A wise person once told me to follow the 2.5 principle in all walks of life....if you think something takes ten minutes...it'll take 25...if you think it costs 10 dollars, it'll cost 25 dollars and always have 2.5 times the money you are about to spend still in the bank after you spend it.

That's similar to the rule of 3 with sex.

If a girl tells you how many partners she has had then multiply the number by 3. If a guy tells you how many partners he has had then divide that number by 3.

I thought thats different though. I thought when referring to two people, the self is second and is I. When referring to one person did something to the self then its them against me?

My sister and i went to the beach.

is different than

My sister told me she is going to the beach.

is that not a correct distinction?
You are correct on my sister and I. Delete sister and it's I went to the beach (correct). But she told my sister and I, delete sister and it's she told I, clearly wrong. And your sister told me, not I.

Growing up if anyone said "me and my friends did X" we were corrected to "my friends and I". When I heard my niece, then in her teens, say "me and my friends" I was actually shocked. What happens when you are raised by English teacher!

Humility is life's greatest lesson. Best learn it sooner rather than later.

If you're going to be a dick, make sure you're not soft.
Try not to throw the first punch, but always be the one to land it first.
Weakness is not from losing, weakness is from quitting.

These are some of the life lessons that my uncle taught me that I'll make sure to pass on to my son.

Never throw the first punch. Always throw the last one.

what if the first punch knocks you out?

Then you can't dodge a punch or take a hit.

You probably shouldn't be in the fight.

That brings me to another bit of sound advice; never start a fight you can't win.

I was once told, "never fight someone who has a hand bigger than your face"

If you mind your nickels and dimes, the dollars will take care of themselves.

There are certain situations where you'd be wise to throw first. Oftentimes when you fight random drunkards, a fight ends with the first punch landed cleanly.

nah he is right with a slight modification which im sure you will agree with.

and the forum scalawag is a runner!

Always treat women like ladies, with the respect they deserve. And open up the door for them, always, never forget.

My wife was an elementary school teacher and she would talk about having a runner today? Not a real Pirate though.

I said that above. As with many life lessons, easier said than done.

My fav is still the tried and true Golden Rule.

Had a guy on drugs(later found out) who thought i was a monster and attacked me in s bar right in the middle of me taking a shot on a pool table.
Before i knew it he had grabbed my head and slammed it into the pool table before i realized it wasnt a buddy fing with me for missing the shot.
Turned around and my buddy was already in the dudes face having my back.

we all got shoved outside and ended uo 1om1 with the dude. Two blows later i had knocked him mdown but HIS friend came runnign up looking to fo. So my same buddy stepped in. ( I learned to fight from him)

he was all cocky jutting his chin out. Hands at his side begging the other guy to come at him and got rocked with a good one before he finally started actually fighting.

He later said it was soooo stupid and he knew better. You never give the other guy a chance no matter how bad ass you are.

If you're going to do crimes never do them with someone who looks like this.

When it came to fighting my dad told me it's not about winning or losing, you do whatever you need to do, kick, claw, punch, you just make sure that person never wants to fight you again.

It's apparent. ;)
