I’m a cast iron cooker when it comes to bacon. I don’t make it often either. I hardly every have time of inclination for a big breakfast but I do cook dinner often and I’ll sometimes start out with 2 slices of bacon - set aside for either salad or to make a green better. Then use the rendered fat to cook some chix or pork.

I never buy a pack of bacon anymore, I go to the meat counter and buy exactly how many think cut slices I require.

We always buy a pack of low salt bacon and I eat one piece about 1/4 of the mornings. That's less than 2 slices a week.

We also use a cast iron skillet. My wife cooks it over medium heat turning it twice. The less you fool with it the better it comes out. I'm assuming the reader likes his/her bacon crisp.

You should figure out how to make bacon into wine.

OMG, you've hit on the only drink better than chocolate milk - wine, the cheaper the better. I visit a store near Burnside in the worst part of West Portland and see what's popular.

One of the best places for breakfast was the Mt, Hood Cafe on about 165th and Division. They closed up several years ago, but the omelets were outrageous and on the weekends you had to wait in a line outside the place. The omelettes were gigantic.
I was actually going to include this place on my list, even though it’s no longer in business. I used to work in Gresham many moons ago and the Mt. Hood Cafe was the place for breakfast after working the graveyard shift. Biggest breakfast I have ever seen. Though the breakfast at the Truffle Hunter in downtown Gresham is pretty good too......

Chocolate wine.

There is nothing better than chocolate milk.

We hardly ever cook bacon and for years when we did it was in a pan on the stovetop.

Now my wife cooks it in the oven in a deep baking pan on parchment paper and it is perfect every time with little mess.
Never baked bacon myself, but some friends of mine swear by it. I'll have to put that on my list.

Used to buy the thick-cut bacon (peppered) to make BLTs, so good...

Mine does the same on a cookie sheet.

Best way to cook bacon is in a cast iron pan over a fire while camping. Ain't nothing better.

I once bought some Carnation chocolate milk and they must of screwed up their plant because it was chocolate eggnog. OMFG! That was soooooo good. Chocolate eggnog totally needs to be a thing.

Using Franz brand wheat bread (w/ honey pockets). Big slices. Damn, I can't get that Franz delight on this side!

I am no Andre The Giant but I could keep up with 99 percent of the Earth in a chocolate milk gallon chugging contest. Maybe took 2 breaths.

I dislike Mother's Bistro. Everyone loves their biscuits and gravy but.... it was like eating a scoop of butter with every bite. Too fancy for my tastes. Give me the cheapest biscuits and gravy everytime.

Breakfast places are tough. Hole in the wall spots are the best.

As far as chains, black bear diner isn't bad.

Brix tavern is great for brunch.

McCraes is good.

Nothing smells better than bacon and coffee when you're camping. And nothing sounds better than fish sizzling when you're camping. Also, I like the sound of the pull tabs on cans of beer when you're camping.

I'd buy a gallon of Andersen's at the gas station by my apartment. Almost as good as the sex my fat chocolate milk drinking self was missing out on.

You realize that most of the chocolate milk out there is to cover up “imperfect” milk? Aka, it has some color in it, due to blood or other issues in the milk?

You said issues, did you mean tissues?
