I kinda liked Gary Wright's Dream Weaver. It's a 1976 song. However, this video is from 2006 (still peddling the hit. )

This certainly isn't in the "best" category, but I had always considered this guy a one-hit(?)-wonder.

Strangely, though, I remember watching part of an episode of some type of reality show involving, I believe, him, Ron Jeremy, and Tammy Faye Baker. Literally, had to turn it off after a few minutes, it was so bad. I think they were sharing a house together and the show involved the filming of their activities and interactions....something like that.

The show was The Surreal Life. Thing is, Van Winkle can actually rap, and is very clean and crisp in his delivery. Try to rap this song versus a Nelly song, for example.

My vote goes to Radar Love by Golden Earring from the early 70's.

Go Blazers

I thought of that as well, but this charted higher than Radar Love, and was a Top Ten Billboard song, and #1 on the Top Tracks Billboard list. Plus, Golden Earing is like the Rolling Stones of the Netherlands. The band has literally existed for 50 years, and has kept the same line-up from 1970 until today. 41 years is amazing.

They had lots of small hit songs and another big hit - Twilight Zone.

Twilight Zone actually charted No. 1 on the Billboard Rock chart in 1983.

Norman Greenbaum - Spirit In The Sky

Blind Melon.

Their debut album is fantastic. I have been listening to it since it came out in 92. Too bad their singer died.

Funny that you have No Rain as a one hit wonder. When I listen to that CD, I will often hit skip on No Rain. It is not the best track. I don't hate the song, it is just a little cutsey for me. If you haven't listed to the rest of the CD, give it a try it has held up well.

Venus - Shocking Blue
Sugar Sugar - the Archies
Whole Hearted, More than Words - Extreme
These Boots - Nancy Sinatra
Train, Train - Blackfoot
American Pie - Don McLean (well, he did Starry Starry Night, too)
Free Ride, Frankenstein - Edgar Winter
Addicted to Love - Robert Palmer
Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield

Lest we forget Louie Louie by Portland's own, The Kingsmen?! (PS: I worked a number of years with Lynn Easton. Cool guy.)

What's amazing to me is that "Radar Love" was a quintessential American 1970s Rock song, with lyrics about long distance muscle-car driving. And it was made by a group from Holland. That always floored me.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2ChjLMbXVrU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> . . . how do you make that youtube box show up so all you have to do is click play?

Hit the video icon, and then paste the Youtube link in it. Not the embed link, but the actual page link.

I just listened to a song by Supertramp. They certainly had more than one hit, but I got to thinking to myself, whatever happened to those guys?!

These Boots - Nancy Sinatra

The aggressive meanie had 6 other hits, plus 2 lesser songs also on the radio.

These Boots Are Made for Walkin'
Sugar Town
Summer Wine
Somethin' Stupid
Jackson
You Only Live Twice
Some Velvet Morning
lesser
Lady Bird
How Does That Grab You, Darlin'?
