I'm watching this now...3 episodes in and I frickin' love it.....as a guy who got his first cell phone in my late 50s and for most of my adult life avoided television ...she's a kindred spirit in many ways...what a brilliant humorist!

Watched Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel. It's about the disappearance and death of Elisa Lam. Very compelling and interesting case. She disappeared the day before she checked out and was found 29 days later in a water tank a top the hotel. (Very reminiscent of the movie dark water where virtually the same thing happens which came out in 2005, 8 years earlier)

It seems like it's a tragic case of mental illness. Lam was bi-polar and was not taking her meds as prescribed. She had to be switched to another room because of strange behavior that scared her roommates.

Lots of strange coincidences and the setting cast an ominous shadow over the case. The Cecil was home to at least two serial killers, Richard Ramirez(the night stalker) and a dude from Sweden or something like that. Not to mention someone has died in every room of the hotel. People have jumped to their deaths, poisoned themselves, shot themselves, or have been murdered. The Cecil has a dark tortured past.

There was an outbreak of tuberculosis around the time she disappeared. The name of the test for it...Lam Elisa. One of the last places she was seen was a bookstore. If you look up the bookstores parent company located in Canada..
It's in the town Elisa was from and the marker on the map is centered on the graveyard she is buried in.

There were no signs of bruising or anything on her body. She was naked in the water tank her clothes and belongings were at the bottom. There was no water in her stomach and little in her lungs.

There was a video of just before she died in an elevator acting strangely pushing all the buttons, including the button that kept the elevator from closing. She was acting as though she was seeing something that was not there, waving her hands in front of her and such.

That's where el prez will start his anarchistic independent nation......right after his bachelor party! I remember that story..won't spoil it for those who don't know but it's a great example about making the wrong assumptions...the Cecil has always been creepy....it's like the Chelsea Hotel in New York City....junkie havens of the world

We just finished Dark. It is probably one of the most complicated shows I have watched. Its a really good mind twister but you have to really pay attention to figure out who all the people are. Me and my wife often had to stop it and discuss the characters relationships. Its done in German so we just watched the voice dub overs, I think you can do subtitles also.

Me and the wife just started Dark this weekend. I'm still trying to get use to the dubbed voices (feels like they didn't do a great job in this department but the wife hates subtitles) but I'm hooked and heard the series only gets better in seasons 2 and 3. I've already called a couple of the twists but I really like it. We've tried to watch The Crown a few times but always end up falling asleep in the middle of episodes. Not sure if it's because I work 70 hours a week or it's just that boring but I'm not buying the hype around that show.

We watched it back when it was on broadcast TV on CBS. Kind of fun in a campy sort of way. Not so great that I was upset that they didn't make more than one season.

We're about halfway thru season 1 of Manifest. Not bad, actually. Glad Netflix is working towards saving/extending it.

I got hooked on "For all mankind", on Apple TV (or apple + whatever the hell it's called).

It's about the space race, but how things would be different if Russia got to the moon first, and the impact that would have on the rest of the space race/cold war. Really fascinating, and the special effects are top notch.


It only has 20 episodes so far (2 seasons) and they're currently filming the third set for a 2022 release.

We watched most of it and eventually trailed off in the last season. Ill probably get back to it eventually to finally figure out what the big mystery was. It was good but gets a little off the rails as the seasons goe on. I think they are trying to make this the new Lost.

Netflix Announces Every Movie And TV Show Releasing In July 2021

July is almost here, and that means you'll have a whole slew of new movies and television shows to check out on Netflix. Now the streaming giant has revealed their full roster of movies and TV shows in their July lineup next month, which will include the usual mix of classic films and fan-favorite shows along with Netflix originals. To make it easy for you we've included all of July's big Netflix releases in one place, and you'll likely find something to get excited about in the lineup, which you can check out in full starting on the next slide!


Right off the bat, Netflix subscribers will get a movie based on the hit video game series Dynasty Warriors and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Horror fans also have something to get pumped about with Fear Street Part 1: 1994, and the two genres will merge a bit with the highly anticipated Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, a new CG animated project starring Leon and Claire.

Later in the month, the Kevin Smith helmed Masters of the Universe: Revelation will hit screens, and we'll also get a new season of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. Kevin Kostner is one of the worst actors that ever lived. I'm not going to put him down there with Segal, von Damme or Chuck Norris but he's most of the way down there. I've seen better soap opera actors.

Ice Road. This a Netfix movie, but we were told it was good. Pretty much suffered thru it last evening. Liam Neeson has been in some bad movies, and this one doesn't disappoint in that department.

We're now in to Season 3 on Hulu. Wish Netflix would find a way to produce a season 4.

I liked him in Choke...he does comedy so well..I had just read that book when that movie came out and he nailed it. Same author as Fight Club
