C’mon Johnny. This seems more than a little disingenuous. If it’s okay for Trump supporters to ignore Trump's mega baggage, it’s okay for Democrats to ignore Biden’s baggage. I think most folks here agreed years ago that most if not all politicians are hypocrites, regardless of party affiliation. I personally have honestly despaired at how anyone could vote for Trump for any reason, that his kind of behavior and “leadership” is okay. But enough people ignored cold, hard facts and still voted for him. All politics (especially presidential) in virtually all instances boil down to choosing between two very bad choices. So I’m gonna go with the bad choice in order to get rid of a worse choice......

That said, the right has absolutely NO moral ground in this regard. Just sayin’.......

My take is that Johnny was calling out the hypocrisy by the Democrats......which is a very real thing. As the old saying goes......”when you point a finger at someone, there’s three fingers pointing back at you.” Very appropriate to the Democratic Party at this time.....and always. I wish they could take a higher road, but then, I’m only dumb, not stupid.....

I think young folks connect with younger candidates in general....seeing the two geriatric white guys battle for the job isn't as inspiring as watching a younger Obama campaign for the job. This election is purely damage control and make no mistake...Trump has done a lot of damage
 
Both parties have hypocrisies, but the meme johnnyboy posted isn't about hypocrisy, IMO, it's about Harris not being a perfect candidate, which no one has presented her as. Yes, she's done things that aren't progressive as a DA/AG which is what you'd expect from such posts (which is further why DAs and AGs are almost never major party candidates)...but she's also done quite a few things that were progressive and break from the expected role and expectations of a DA/AG. Obviously, a meme, which is meant to be funny and to simply preach to the converted, isn't going to handle nuance or the full record in any meaningful way.

I think you're right on about younger Dems connecting more with younger candidates. JFK, Bill Clinton, Obama & even Carter. Republicans historically seemed to like older politicians. I think Trump saw that wasnt working working for them and went rogue and populist, he sinced the republicans were tired of losing and might revolt against the old tradition career politician. The dems would have won running away with a younger moderate. The 3 million more popular votes for the Black Widow all came from CA & NE heavily populated area's.. She and her campaigned blew it but I still think its was a vote against Hillary as it will be a vote against Trump in Nov. Hopefully.

You both know exactly what it is getting at, and it captures Biden’s unfortunate ‘condition’ pretty well.

The Democrats are hiding him from the public to prevent him from further exposing his cognitive decline. He literally can’t make it through a short, rehearsed address without trailing off into some crazy nonsense or tripping over his words. He’s a walking gaffe and it’s borderline senior abuse to be encouraging him to continue the charade.

I mean, it clearly doesn't bother you enough to meme about it, but does it bother you at the lower "no memes, or even comments about it, but nags at you quietly" level?

Not really about the cognitive issues. Say what you will about his temperment, tweets, what have you. There are ample legitimate criticisms of Trump. He’s not suffering from senior cognitive decline/dementia though. Biden clearly is.

Trump isn’t suffering from senior dementia. He’s just not. If you think whatever makes Trump a douche is attributed to dementia you are wrong and need to focus on more legitimate criticisms.
