I'm good. Thanks for asking, though! My house is 15 minutes from the already-active and erupting Kilauea. Mauna Loa's flows are mostly to the south portion of the island, or that's the expectation anyhow. That being said, Mother Nature always keeps us guessing, right?
My house is Lava Zone 3, which means my house itself is unlikely to be impacted by flows. My insurance rates are the same level/rate I pay on my Oregon house, so I'm in what's considered a safe area as far as damage to my home. The AQI is the one possible issue I might have to deal with. For reference, the AQI at my Hawaii house is currently 24; it's 53 in McMinnville. Hilo is 56.
I'm supposed to be back in a few weeks. We shall see, though. I'm not currently worried and plan to go have my typical New Year in Hawaii as I've done the last several years. Can't nobody hold me down..... oh, no.... I've got to keep on movin'.
