I still think Lester is going with a National League Club, the Cubs aren't ready to win , but the Cardinals and Giants at this point legitimate contenders are capable of a "win now gig". Right now with the contracts of Sabathia, and Tanaka, I'd hate to think of the Yankees handing zillions to a man who turned down what 6 and 144. The staff is shaky but a healthy Nova, improved Pineda, Greene, and McCarthy on a short deal is not bad at all.
Yeah, I understand where your coming from. Too many big big contracts to contend with,
I read a decent article in the L.A. Times 2 weeks ago, how and why Lester will wind up in Frisco....! I wouldn't put it past Frisco to acquire Lester, his addition would be hell on the NL, esp. The NL West...! While the Bums still are in the shit house, still trying to figure out, who their 3rd, 4th and 5th starters are going to be.
Ryu is 3rd and has been all of 2014. Not a bad southpaw, yet more of a #4 Pitcher, then they got the gutless Dan Haren, whose best days were 08 with a 16-8 Record, yet 09 with a 14-10 record was not that pretty at all. 09 IMO, was the beginning of the end in Oakland, and Haren has not had a decent year since he left Oakland.
Haren is a burden on any teams pitching rotation. NTM, the Bums have serious Bullpen Problems, and Paco Rodriguez is not worthy of being a #10 starter in MLB. Guggenheim has endlessly deep pockets, yet Colletti has done shit for a GM job, in finding a combination of winning talent, over the next decade. Hell the Bums will be lucky to have a good year going forward, without a total rebuild, and shit canning has beens, even if they have to eat those millions of dollars...
