Bike questions

[THE HCP]

Just dragged my wife's 12 year old mountain bike out of the garage so she could go on a ride and it is through! Took it to The Bike Gallery and they said it would cost more to fix it then it is worth. ANYWAY..... looking for a bike for her now and was wondering if any of you computer hoop geeks knew anything about bike's. She only ride's now and then on streets, no off-road. Don't think I wanna get her something new. Craigslist?

I don't think I wanna spend over 250. I know you get what you pay for, but we only go biking 10 or so times a year.

lol, ok.

Before I bought a road bike I put street tires on my Mt. bike. Go get her a Mt. Bike and throw some road tires on it. She'll fly down the street! Not like a witch though!

Don't go for a Swinn. Pricey bikes.
I just went to Fred Meyers and you can get a decent bike for about $100 - $130 with seat shocks or spacers in the frame.

Bike Gallery sells Treks. That's where I got my wife and I's bikes at.

Beach Cruisers are cool! If she's only going to ride around the streets with the kids, get her a comfortable cruiser.
