Bill Walker was an afterthought name in the deal that sent him and Eddie House to New York in exchange for Nate Robinson.

But Mike D'Antoni intends on playing him.

"He's definitely going to play, somebody we want to look at here on out. And he impressed the heck out of me," D'Antoni told the New York Post. "[He's] 22 years old and we just want to keep working with him, and hopefully he can be a good contributor . . . going forward."

Walker strength is his athleticism, and that's something D'Antoni covets in his lineups.

And even though Walker saw some time in the D-League this season and barely played for the C's, the 13 minutes D'Antoni gave Walker on Tuesday were the most he's gotten all season.

Walker is prone to turn the ball over, but he's also proven to be an effective shooter, as he shot 62.1 percent last season and is currently shooting 50 percent on the year.

If D'Antoni gives him some solid playing time, something the C's were unable to do, he may show some of the potential he had in college before knee injuries set him back a bit.

He's pretty raw, but I like what I saw from him. He'll probably be resigned so we can fill out the roster.

Walker had a good game in a blowout today. He was a hot shot recruit back in the day as teammates of OJ Mayo, but a torn ACL somewhat slowed down his progress as a player. It really wouldn't surprise me if he does pan out to be a decent role player, maybe more in the form of a poor man's G-Force?

He dunked a couple times when NY played Boston a week ago, the fans were like wow, he can do that? But that bitch Doc never played him. :(

Nice energy player, but I'm not convinced by his ability to create his own shot. If we had a really good point guard who could push the tempo - Paul, Nash - he could look really good.

On an off-topic note, he sorta looks like Beanie Sigel.
