KENOSHA, WISCONSIN WHITE COP SHOOTS UNARMED BLACK MAN... Seven Times, Point-Blank

A white police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin opened fire on an unarmed Black man who was simply walking away from him -- shooting him point-blank seven times ... and it's all on video.

The officer-involved shooting went down Sunday near 40th and 28th Avenue -- where witnesses say the victim was simply breaking up a fight when cops were called to the scene. It's unclear what unfolded from there, but this video captures the crucial 20 seconds.

You see the man walking away from a few officers ... who appear to be telling him to stop, with guns drawn. He makes his away around a car in a nonthreatening manner, he opens the door and attempts to get inside. One of the cops grabs hold of his shirt, and for some inexplicable reason, he unloads seven rounds at arm's length. The victim was flown to a hospital and has been listed as being in serious condition.

Protests are now growing by the minute. Many are demanding the swift arrest of the officer who fired the shots.

While the situation is still very fluid, it seems an outright inexcusable act of police brutality. Even if the man was disobeying orders, he was nonviolent, nonthreatening, unarmed and there was no attempt to subdue him in the vehicle.

According to reports on the ground, the state Department of Justice is already taking over the investigation. Kenosha PD, for its part, says officers on the scene provided immediate aid -- but also note that they instantly transferred the case to outside agencies.

Local reports indicate that Blake's children were inside the SUV and watched as their father was gunned down.

Several witnesses said that Blake tried to break up a fight between two women outside a nearby home, according to Kenosha News.

What's there to say?

That's how I feel. This just gets more sickening.
Pretty much... I don't care if he was grabbing an AR-15... It doesn't matter if he wasn't 'obeying orders', it doesn't matter if his intent was to get into his car and bowl through all of them... There are so many other ways that altercation ends without a man in the hospital shot 7 times...

I’m absolutely amazed this guy got shot 7 times from 3 feet and SURVIVED!!!
It's excusable when you figure the White officers are running out of Blacks to use for target practice.

That cop is done

Shot a dude in the back 7 times into a car in which his three children were sitting. What the fuck is wrong with the police. How stupid are they? What an utter disregard for human life.

You know what's scarier to me, is I've seen/read so many people jump to the defense of the cops... I've heard all the bad stuff this guy did, how he had a warrant for his arrest supposedly, blah, blah, blah... Even if the cops feared for their life or some crap excuse, there are certainly other ways to go about handling that...

That will be the cops defense too, that he thought Blake was going for a gun in his car and he was afraid for his life.

What a bunch of bullshit. That cop needs to go to prison. Hopefully, Blake survives. Damn 7 bullets

Yeah, that is a bunch of bullshit to. Blake broke up a fight. He was a good Samaritan and he was gunned down in front of his children for it.

I have no idea if he broke up a fight or not. I know that's been reported, but frankly, it doesn't matter if he was a good samaritan or what he was doing...

Yeah, I saw no reason in that video for him to be shot 7 times in the back

Agreed, but it’s important to remember the bolded part before jumping to judgment. Nobody can see from the video whether the guy was reaching for a weapon. But, yeah, absent definitive proof of a gun or knife, those cops should be charged.

edit: for the record I'm not saying I totally agree with him, but Tyronne Magnus is a really calm, level-headed guy, love his channel and acting. His takes are usually worth listening to. - IMO at least -

I saw no reason for the police to pull their guns out of their holsters. When Carter was President, he changed the FBI's guidance to police departments about drawing a weapon. Reagan changed it back, along with everything else Carter had done.

I remember, during the Carter era, reading an article in which a veteran street policeman said that he had never drawn his gun on anyone in his career. There were plenty of such police then. But Clinton and Obama were more conservative than Carter and never reversed Reagan.
