In response to protests Florida passed laws making blocking streets a felony and immunizing from prosecution anyone who drives a car into protesters. Governor DeathSantis insisted it was about public safety, not politics.

Last week Florida streets were repeatedly blocked by protests against the Cuban government. No one was arrested, much less charged with felony. Because Republicans claim to support the protests. Although not crazy about democracy here.

It was about politics. No surprise.

Doesn't surprise me.

Not going to look good when white supremacists are plowing down protestors for fun without consequence.

So either way its a win for Republicans. Protestors will be felons for protesting and won't be able to vote or will be dead.

Minimum safe distance for firing a rubber bullet is 35 feet. LAPD knows this, because they received training on it. At closer than 35 feet the round is known to cause serious injury.

When normal people are embarrassed and distressed about their actions, they apologize. They don't do speaking slots at Republican national convention and use notoriety to run for Senate.

A good apology is the sign of a person with a good conscience.
A good apology by a child is a sign of a child developing a good conscience which means we all have to make mistakes to learn when we are young. However, when you screw up at my age you are just an accomplished asshole.

Professor Suspended for Not Giving Black Students Easier Final Exam Sues UCLA

A University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) professor who was suspended and later reinstated for refusing to give Black students leniency on their final exams following the death of George Floyd has filed a lawsuit against the school.

Gordon Klein, who teaches financial analysis, law, and public policy at UCLA, filed a lawsuit Monday claiming that he suffered financially and emotionally because of the incident. Although he retained his position, Klein alleged he was dropped from consulting jobs at law firms and other corporations and that his reputation was tarnished as a result.

Klein discussed his reasons for suing the school with a post on the website "Common Sense with Bari Weiss" and said he was seeking unspecified damages "not only to correct the tortures he had endured but also to protect academic freedom."

He's suing UCLA for breach of contract, violating his privacy and retaliatory discrimination.

In court documents, Klein alleged he "suffered severe emotional distress, trauma, and physical ailments for which he has been treated by his primary care physician, a gastrointestinal physician, and a psychiatrist.".................

dumbest cops on the planet. Body cams work!

I mean WTF?!

"You rolled up your window, you're under arrest."

"That guys filming us doing illegal stupid shit, go pepper spray him and arrest him for nothing with excessive force."

Oh, our body cams are on

Dumbasses

Every cop needs to be required to wear a bodycam while on duty at all times, no exceptions. They must not be allowed to turn them off. We need accountability.

i clicked on the link. It wont open.
Context. Who was the aggressor? Cops are going to detain the aggressor in these situations. If guy on couch is calm but guy getting handcuffed is still aggressive they will subdue the aggressive one.
If in a mall, im sure there is video evidence showing what was going on right before they subdued and handcuffed the one kid?
