Nobody talking about this? Usually this place is all over it.....

Helicopter flying without the transponder... definitely the military's fault here.

Looking at the flight paths, it almost looks as though the helicopter intentionally crashed into the AA plane.

Definitely will be tracking more news on this

I just fully expect shit like this to happen for the next 4 years.

I'm sure people will start jumping out windows soon...

Hegspeth not off to a good start.

I’m just relieved that Pete Buttigieg isn’t still the guy in charge. Imagine what we’d be hearing if this happened under a gay Biden appointee. The right would be going nuts. Mayhem. Fortunately we have a former MTV Real World cast member running the show now.

I was looking for more details online about what happened with this crash but haven’t been able to find a whole lot. Luckily, I finally was able to come here to find out it was in fact Donald Trump who caused the collision. I will start letting people know.

Seems like aviation safety may have played a part...

Trump was warned firing 3000 air traffic controllers, 400 senior FAA officials and heads of Coast Guard and Transportation Security would put aviation at risk. That there is a critical shortage of air traffic controllers. Who are among federal employees being asked to resign.
Transportation Secretary and former Fox commentator has yet to talk to air traffic controllers.

Trump is very much responsible. Just like Joe’s responsible for that, them, their egg prices!

Much like with mass shootings, I find it deplorable when people are more interested casting blame for tragedies or in the political implications thereof than in the actual human impact of the tragedy itself.

My first thought when I heard about this was the plane crash that happened in the same river when I was a kid. I remembered that guy who jumped in the icy river to save the woman and I hoped there would be acts of heroism to save people of this crash. Sadly there wasn't.

It's not about politicizing. This wasn't an earthquake or an asteroid crashing to earth. Details aren't known but air traffic safety has been cut. A bill allowing increased traffic passed, but only after Ted Cruz removed safety requirements. I am sure flight crews and rescue did and are doing their best. But we do need proper investigation.

Terribly tragic. Thoughts are with the family of the plane passengers and those in the helicopter.

Sounds like the plane was coming in for a landing and the helicopter was doing secret night training. Hard enough to see things at night as it is. Were there lights on the helicopter? Was going dark part of their training? Was the plane in the right corridor?

Maybe don't do training missions where passenger jets are landing.

Obviously it’s a horrible tragedy. Kind of goes with out saying. So many tragedies could be avoided. Pretty damning that a week after the new administration guts the FAA that this happens.

My dad was on the phone with me when we heard word of it. We both acknowledged it was awful and discussed the rarity of it. Maybe I should’ve stated the obvious on here as well. I’m held to a higher standard I suppose.

Meanwhile we have a whole party that took pride in politicizing wildfires in California.

Great call out on the wildfires. "Waaaa everyone blaming Trump for the plane crash" (not really happening but whatever). While within hours of the fires it was ALLLLLL Gavin Newsom, Joe Biden, etc.

Trump having a press conference just to deflect blame. Said on live TV that Buttigieg is full of bullshit or some sort.

So funny how this guy is going on the defensive so hard. Now he’s praying…

You can’t make this up

Did you happen to read through this thread? Prepare to be disappointed.

Reporter:

“How can you prove that the result of this plane crash is because of a DEI hire?”

Trump:

“Because I have common sense.”

Did he REALLY say that? I mean, I give him no benefit of the doubt, but my god that's awful.

Yep. Exact quote and then he went into some mudslinging.

Pretty sad when our commander and chief is the one who politicizes tragedies the MOST.

I never heard Biden get to the podium and pass direct blame to Trump and his cronies when 100’s of schools were shot up during his watch

Look at who was blamed. If you feel that way, will you concede this was wrong to throw blame while grieving this travesty?
Obviously. Why wouldn't I? It's ridiculous and despicable to be focusing on blame. The lives lost and the people impacted are the only things that matter right now.

Honestly, it's disappointing and a bit insulting that you would even insinuate that I would view it differently, that it's somehow a "concession" on my part to acknowledge Trump's abhorrent behavior as such.
