Blake to play tonight......

Well, they're saying some nice things about Steve so far, despite getting stomped on:

"I was looking at his A/TO today.. His last game he had 12 assists, and 1 turnover.. His turnovers are 1.3/game.. I think he’ll be a breath of fresh air."

"Notice how the ball is swinging, Moving the ball gets open shots"

"nice! Blake looks like he gives a fuck"

"nice move by Blake!"

"Blake 4 assists and no TURNOVERS lol"

"blake and outlaw r ballers. watch"

"yes, so I think we have a diamond in the rough with Blake, judging from summer league... the dude was a great passer"

"Blake to DJ!"

"Wow. Blake led Jordan so much I thought Jordan was going to break his neck"

"blake already runs this offense better than BD after 15 mins"

"Blake reminds me of a back up PG in college, where the player will shoot only as a last resort"

Sighhh....

That's very sad. I'm sure part of it is just that neither of them loves being behind the mike, and part of it is us projecting, but it looked like:

Q: Steve, your mother just died. How are you coping?
A: Well, what can you do? I'm just know she's in a better place, that's all.

Q: Travis, you've been battling depression for most of your life. Have the new drug treatments helped any?
A: No.... no, not really. Y'know. I don't know...

I think that's pretty much how every "So you've just been traded to the Clippers" press conference goes.

Still, it's a lot more painful when it happens to players you've been cheering for for years. Even if you haven't really been cheering that loudly for those particular players (as I haven't).

Reminds me of this photo:

It's striking because Telfair has one of those ultra-charismatic shit-eating grins most of the time.

If you look closely at this shot, you can almost see him dieing inside. He's holding that jersey like it's a turd.

Blake and Outlaw have my condolences. I wish I could say they deserve better than this but...

Well, even they don't deserve this. They were kind of mediocre players, and I'm glad they are off my team. But I don't wish the Clippers on them.

I have so much respect for Clippers fans, because... well, they're Clippers fans. Thick and thin. Rain or... shat.

At least Telfair had Dodge behind him. Dodge has now been replaced by Kia, which is pretty much a perfect sponsor for the Clips.

Blake @ half: 0-4, -13

and five dimes ... he's kind of been a mixed bag out there, but considering that he doesn't know any of their plays and has been thrust into their starting lineup after landing on the ground today ... :dunno:

I've been watching and he hasn't been as bad as you characterize him, two of those shots were bailouts at the end of the clock.

Im not watching so i dont really know how he was playing, just stats

:sigh: I almost feel dirty watching that video ... these guys aren't supposed to be human beings!
you almost expect them to ask:
"and where did the bad man, KP, touch you?"

It is hard to watch.:sigh:

Say what you like about Blake, but the Clippers are already making extra passes with him out there.

That's what my friend the Clips fan noticed. "Blake sure likes to pass" he said, like passing was something new and unique.

I'm sure a lot of people no longer care, but I'll remind you guys when Trav will make his debut also.
I always care about Blazers, even ex-Blazers, and especially good guys like Steve and Trav. I haven't checked the threads but I'm sure there is one here showing their press conference? I've never seen athletes being introduced to their new fans who were so obviously depressed as those two. The deep sighs were painful. I've called for both to be traded, but watching that I just felt guilty.

I'm drinking one for Steve and Travis tonight.

Edit: OK. Nevermind. I see the rest of the thread is devoted to the same subject.

Brutal. Just brutal.

LOL the Clippers are arguing that a Hawks block was clean and there was no way a foul should have been called them...

Not much to the interview... Outlaw mentioned seeing the Clippers with Sam Cassell and he wouldn't mind being part of history like that.

Meaning he'll be glad when having been on the Clippers is history? :devilwink:

You know, there's probably more of us watching their game than them.

9 assists and only 3 turnovers for a new team he probably hadn't even practiced with; nice job, Mr. Blake!

Just finished watching the game. Man they have a horrible team. Steve would come off screens and there is NOBODY to dump it to! Good luck Blake and Trav......... enjoy the weather.
