The production values of the Blazer Broadcasting shows are pathetic and embarrassing. How many times during this game am I going to have to listen to a commercial cueing up leak out over the air? There's High School TV stations with better quality than this. And don't get me started about no HD. What is this, 1990? The return of BlazerVision? Horrible.

You do realize that a member of this forum is part of the blazer broadcasting team don't you? How dare you sir.

I know that very well. Which is one of the reasons behind my post. HCP can feed back my feelings. He should be as embarrassed as everyone else for this shoddy broadcast.

Have you ever seen/heard a problem like this before?

I just saw this. We started getting emails from back in Portland about this. In defense of Blazer Broadcasting our feed leaving the truck here in Chicago is fine. This is a KGW issue. There is NO excuse for this, but Blazer Broadcasting is not at fault. This is very similar to the crappy CSN signal. I wish I could give you guys a better answer, but our work is clean. I will pass on your complaints though.

Nothing wrong with no hd on the road at this point. Lots of teams don't have it. Hell, some don't even have home hd.

I've watched a million Blazer games on TV and that was the FIRST TIME I've ever heard a commercial or some other programming audio bleed through. Big fucking deal. And it lasted for what, 1 minute? God, the fact that you took the energy to post about this is kind of sad IMO. I suppose you could say the same about me, but you kind of irritated me, so yeah.

No dude, people on here need to know when they're being morons...it's healthy for the community.

It happened about 10 times though, and I'm not really upset, I thought it was funny more than anything.

The KGW games are rebroadcast down here on KFBI and I was having no such issues. The picture quality sucks but that's a constant.

This ain't the first KGW problem though. Remember the Minny game "blackout"?

I KNOW!!! And then it's crazy! I mean the blazers came out and played a good game...I would be able to listen to all that 2 minutes of commercials if it means we win again...MUTE YOUR TV! Turn on Wheels...

I'm sure Joe Becker had something to do with it... :ohno:

Funny, I was watching the Bulls broadcast team on League Pass, and I thought this would be yet another thread about how pathetic our broadcast team looks in comparison. Those Bulls announcers were smart, entertaining and completely even handed, unlike our lame homer announcers.

Oh, and it was in high definition, which is nice for a change.

It's amazing how much money Paul Allen has to throw around at everything, and we're stuck with the amateur propaganda squad to actually telecast the games.

Hope HCP doesn't take offense at this post. I've never had a beef with the technical aspects of the Blazers' broadcast (other than high def).

Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Mike & Mike rule. Rice makes me laugh countless times during the game, and MB, though homerish, does not bother me at all.

Count me in this category, too. It's entertainment intended for Blazer fans and a little Blazer bias is fine by me. Besides, I think that they have been better this season about admitting when they've been wrong and the ref's call was correct.

THEY even laugh at their homerism from time to time. It's more of a shtick than reality, IMO. But either way, I don't care! They make a good team and entertain me. And believe it or not, I think Rice actually has a good basketball mind. He's insightful about the BLAZERS, often times predicting what they'll do in certain situations and he's right more times than he's not.

The only thing that bothers me is the picture quality of non HD games. We've cut our HD box for a few months and it really reminds me of how horrible the picture looks. It's baaaad.

I could care less about production values, I just want all the games to be shown on Direct. A year and a half and I'm still watching the majority of games on Justin.tv. I'm sick of it.

Well, since we're complaining, I'd like to complain about having to watch Rebecca interview some hockey player, on-screen mind you, causing me to miss an entire Blazers possession. Or any time for that matter that the camera is stuck on somebody on the sideline while the game is going on. God I hate that. If they want to do the audio of the interview while I watch the game, that's one thing, but when I have to miss the action because the director is in love with Phil Jackson or is showing me some anonymous hockey player talking it really fries me.

That is all. :pimp:

The only thing I hate about our Comcast/KGW feeds is that they never get the broadcast time right. 75% of the time when the game is on Comcast channel 788 or 37 , I miss half or 75% of the pre-game show because they haven't "flipped" the switch to turn the game on the 788 HD channel. Of course I can view it on CSN 37, but that video quality is just complete trash.

Then when they do finally "flip" the HD switch over to 788; the sound is all jacked up, or muted, or there's weird ASCII characters being displayed on the screen, something like this "CO*$$##@@!$ ???@@@$%"; It's freaking terrible.

KGW does at least start the games on time, but again, picture and audio quality just suck; I however, blame Comcast; it just reeks of their bullshit.

I can't believe a thread complaining about the Blazers' broadcast has gone on this far without mention of the atrocious half-time and post-game guys. Who are they and why do they suck so enormously? And what's with their set? It's way too busy in the background - is that supposed to distract me from how incredibly awkward those two seem? It's a bit sad, actually, because some of the analysis isn't half-bad - it's just terribly presented.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more on both counts. I love Mike and Mike. On the flip-side, I thought the Bulls announcers were poor - at least Mike and Mike can get the names of players correct -- Charles Outlaw? Really? And what was with their negative infatuation with Nicholas Batum. God, everytime he was near a play they had to rail on the guy for something. (Was it the Chicago game where Nic dunked at the end and didn't need to? Maybe that's it.) Anyhoo, my main point is that Mike and Mike are great, and using the Chicago announcers as a comparison may not be the best way to make your point.

On that I am in complete agreement with you and mook.

That reminds me, we joke about LaMarcus and Rebecca, but did anybody else notice her voice when she ended the interview with Travis and how the called him "Trav"? Is that just her shtick?

Can we talk about the camera crew focusing on a hockey player and Rebecca Harlow's interview instead of about 15 seconds of game?
