The way I see it, if this guy is on Kaleb's list of 4, then hire Clifford and keep Canales on staff as an assistant ... I know that doesn't jive with the convention of letting a HC chose his own people, but since when have the Blazers ever done anything conventionally?
 
He sounds a lot like McMillan.

Does he have an offensive mind? That IMO is the most important issue, not his intensity in dealing with players.

My final, but favorite, JVG tidbit on Blazers' finalist Steve Clifford: "If you don't like him, you're the a#*-hole.''
 
Since we know that it's going to be one of the four Quick mentions, I'm just hopeful that A. It's not Canales (at least not right now) and B. That if it is Clifford, that JVG isn't blowing smoke rings up our collective arses.

this is like a reality show. what a joke....MYSTERY CANDIDATE! its like the WWE and there "MYSTERY GM FOR MONDAY NIGHT RAW!"

It's like the wrestler wearing a mask because the promoter couldn't get enough guys to show up on a Friday night, and somebody had to pull a double shift.
 
Shoot, we went after Phil Jackson and Jerry Sloan.. could the 5th mystery candidate be one of these two reconsidering?

Phil Jackson ... yes.

Jerry Sloan ... no thanks, although there is the slight chance that Sloan would have Lillard's ear because of the Ronnie Price/Utah connection.

Is D'Antoni represented by LeGarie or Kauffman? If not, then he might be the candidate.

I don't give a damn about the search. It can go on until a week before training camp for all I care, I just care about the result.
 
Good to know all of these assistants are getting endorsements from their former boss
