Which is why we could add someone putting up 25/8/5 with over 36% 3pt shooting at the 4 spot.

We need to take a risk with legitimate high end upside that could turn us into contenders. The risk is Griffin's health, but if healthy, we'd be legitimate contenders. Butler, Kawhi, Davis... They all would be likely to leave (Butler had character concerns as well). At least with Griffin you know you have a legitimate window. He's also changed his game and takes less hits and jumps to his full extent a lot less. I think it'll lead to him being more healthy as he ages.

Who else do you think we should take a chance on to become contenders? Kevin Love? He's a worse player, with a worse contract, who's just as injury prone. Other than that, what other all-star might be available at the deadline?

It's a bad risk. Plain and simple.

And I don't want either of those injury prone players so IMO, to choose between the two, especially at the expense of a healthy CJ, is a non starter for me. I'd f rather we not do anything than trade for either of them.

I just don't see this ownership signing off on Blake.

A shiny clean, fresh new owner may not care about Oden, Roy etc. But I bet this one is still gun shy on pulling the trigger with that much risk for that contract. Right or wrong.

I think Blake's price tag is the game changer...you can sign several great players for his 34 million or whatever he makes a season...to trade for a top PF the seamless trade would be for ….get ready...yup...Lamarcus Aldridge, Rolo....and Wes Mathews....almost zero adjustment curve going into the playoffs...and yeah..it'll never happen and Wes is not the same..but compared to what Blake gets paid..just trading for a .Vucevic and Mirotic or Randle would make us much, much better and fit the timeline...

I agree Blazers would never help the L@kers like that, but I don't think that trade is totally dreadful (aside from Ball going back to the L@kers first chance he gets.

Blazers get younger, you get a taller guard who defends better and runs the team faster, you get a couple more forwards with nice upsides, some potentially decent draft picks if LeBron gets hurt, and all this allows you to wait until the Warriors start to fall and LeBron ages.

PG: Ball; Simons
SG: CJ; Trent;
SF: Ingram; Harkless
PF: Kuzma; Aminu
C: Nurkic; Biebs

Plus, with the picks you have flexibility to move CJ and use Ingram, Simons or Trent to SG.

If Blazers don't win with Dame and CJ then some might look back and think this would have been a decent trade.

Sure, I'd rather have Dame and AD, but if I couldn't do that then . . .

How would you feel about that trade if they swapped out Dame for CJ? I would do that one yesterday.

I was researching a bunch of other team's forums and sites for any trade rumors involving the Blazers from the perspective of non-Blazers fans and I can't wait to share all the crappy ones with you fine people.
Are they worse than the ones weve talked about already? lol
