The smart move would be for PG's guy to start as the screener to force a switch of PG onto Dame or CJ, and then run him into a second screen from a big in a situation when fighting over the screen is the right play.
The smart move if they do that, is to not screen with pg’s man. :)

Westbrook and George may have to much pride to double team and believe (rightfully so in George's case) that they are fine playing defense on their own. That may limit the double-teams right there. If Dame starts to hit shots though, expect them to perhaps not even hedge or blitz the PnR and flat out send either defender of Harkless or Aminu in Dame's direction.

I wish Stotts would do the same and make Ferguson or Grant win the game for the OKC....but that seems like wishful thinking. Terry seems to be more of the ilk of let George get 45 and try to limit Grant and Ferguson from getting theirs. Damn that seems backwards.....and certainly not what Dame faces on a nightly basis.

Reading around other teams fourms. Pretty much everyone is picking the Thunder. Can't blame them since we got swept the last two seasons. I don't want to get my hopes up because I really want to defeat Westbrook. But we haven't won a fair series since we had Lamarsha.

We know they are going to try and trap Lillard and CJ everytime. If Chief and Harkless can step it up and reliably hit some shots the Thunder are going to have to play CJ and Dame 1v1 which is in our favor on the offensive side. OKC bench is very inconsistent and their biggest weakness, its an area we need to win Our bench > theirs by a long shot theoretically.

On "The Jump," there was a guy who said he was "fairly confident" the Blazers will win the series and that it won't be close. Cited OKC's shooting problems and how bad they've been since the All Star break.

Paul George is still averaging 26 points after the All Star break, and lets not forget russell Westbrook played extremely good against us in all 4 games. I'm so scared of both, and their long athletic defenders

I’m taking the lazy prediction, should lose 4 to 2. Love our boys but alas, Adams should smash, pg rw etc etc

On 40% from the field and 33% from 3.

Quit being "scared" bro. You should never be "scared" of another team.

So the betting line has the Blazers -3 in game one.
Thunder +3

So the line is very even. This should be a fun game to watch.

I found a sec 122 row E right behind the Blazer bench cheap. Gonna try to work the schedule and get there. Five rows back ought to be pretty good.

Edit- It's actually six rows after the VIP row.

How bad they have been? I would have liked to have beaten them at least once while they were being so pathetic then.

The Blazers are going to need one or two players to step up outside of Dame/CJ. Doubtful it is the same player every game so a couple of players are going to need to step up. Whether that is Zach, Jake, Curry (not as much of a surprise) or a real surprise like Simons.

Even with that, Dame is going to have to step up. 18.5 ppg on .352 shooting and .300 from '3' like last year just will not do. In the last 3 playoff series that have been 1st round losses, Dame is shooting .247 from '3' on 23/93 shooting. That is a big enough sample size to be of concern. That is a drastic fall off and Portland is going no where unless that reverts back to his more normal production.

Blazers should have won that last one. If Nurk hadn't let Paul George get to him, and not gotten that tech, I think they would have.

Thunder lost 13 of 19 games at one point. They've been awful since the break.

Dame averaged 35 ppg against Thunder in regular season.

Kanter? But, yeah Curry, Chief, Hark, Hood, Jake, Zach all need to come to play

We are done! ESPN all the guys picked OKC to get to the conference finals.

What worries me about OKC is that I don't think we can match the fierceness and toughness of Westbrook, George and Adams. We will have to execute more smoothly and intelligently than them, to counter this.
We handled those same three guys when we swept them 4-0 last year. And we have a better team this year.
