@blazersedge: Lawrence: Blazers, Rockets "Talking" About Possible Omer Asik Trade http://t.co/DrARNOzXiX

The Trail Blazers are off to one of their best starts in years, but they're not kidding themselves. They know they've taken advantage of a pillow-soft schedule and have surprised themselves with their shooting (46% entering Friday). So they're quietly looking to improve, talking to the Rockets about trading for Omer Asik. They can send back Robin Lopez in a deal, but don't have the "stretch four'' the Rockets are looking for as they search for a home for their disgruntled backup center.

Mitch Lawrence. …..so in other words there is absolutely no truth to it.

Pritchard drafted and immediately traded Asik, to the worshipful praise of Pritchard lovers. Asik fits McHale's system like a glove, but I'm not sure about here.

Ugh, what? Asik doesn't fit anymore with Howard there. He had a game recently where he played 4 minutes and he's requested a trade at least twice now.

The Blazers are playing great but who would turn down a chance at one of last season's leading rebounders and shot blockers?

There would need to be a third team involved but trading some combination of CJ, Lenoard, Robinson, Freeland, Crabbe, Barton and picks would make sense.
Imagine having a Asik/Lopez center combination? That is championship caliber stuff.

Wait.... I thought we have played elite competition? Somebody else noticed it??

Only way we do it is having Lopez as well. So who do they want? Freeland?

I would give Freeland, crabbe, and claver. Otherwise it makes no sense

Im not sure how it gets done but if I have learned anything this year its that you should never under-estimate Olshey.

I don't like it, especially if Lopez is involved. Houston is desperate. Portland making this trade would mean Houston doesn't really solve the issues then have at PF. On a side note, I don't like Asik's attitude.

There is absolutely no way Olshey would do that if they wanted Lopez.

Terrence Jones has really stepped up the last 3 games. Maybe their PF problems are getting better.

They want a 'stretch' 4? We have Claver and Leonard. Freeland can also play PF.

I don't do it if we have to trade Lopez. And I also am not crazy about Asik's presumed 'attitude', but at the same time I think he'd be happier in Portland than Houston given the circumstances.

I'd love it if they traded us Asik for our backups, then Howard goes down with his bad back. I don't expect it however, since Houston management seems to like to get the better end of deals.

If we needed anymore proof you're just trollin' the board, this post is it.

I'd be devastated if we gave up on Robin Lopez. Aldridge likes Lopez. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yeah, no kidding. I don't see them trading him after 14 games (counting tonights) and he set his career high in boards TWICE during that time. That'd just be ridiculous.

Who would you rather have: Asik or Noah? For this team, I'd pick Noah.

Noah 1,000 times over. He knows how to win. Also, I could see Noah fine with coming off the bench as well. Asik eating boatloads of bitch cereal about playing time is a huge concern.

Yep, Noah has the best big man motor in the game. He strikes me as a team player. Wants to win period. Does all the dirty work. Runs the floor. Wookie would just have to get over it. ;)

I'm curious if Asik has an attitude problem, or is just hyper-competitive and wants to start.

Maybe Chicago can get into this Asik wanting out of Houston? Boozer is actually a perfect PF for them.

Let me go a little further. Chicago not wanting Asik back, but would come in this deal to obtain picks and or players by giving up boozer to a third team

Attitude, it is known. Wanting to play should not have a negative affect on the team for which you play for. In Asik's case, it has, on more than one team.
