If RFA Greg Monroe gets max offer, Pistons will have a tough call to make. Sign-and-trade a "high possibility" in that case, source says.

What would his max contract look like?

OK, maybe it's been too long since the Blazers season ended, but this name is just not ringing a bell with me. Anyone give me a rundown on the dude?

Similar to Hibbert's contract

I can't imagine we would make a max offer to Monroe, frankly this sounds like his agent blowing smoke to get as much $$$$ as possible, I highly doubt we have any real interest in him - where were Olshey and Stotts last night?

He's got a very old-school low post game and is rather lead-footed. Quiet, nice guy, but defense not his forte. Think Al Jefferson. This should give you some idea:

If it's that high, I see there being no chance of Portland being even a bit interested.

Pistons, to be clear, have made it known they want to keep Monroe. But aforementioned teams are lining up to test Detroit's matching resolve

He plays on the opposite block from LaMarcus, FWIW.

I'm pretty sure 90% of these "rumors" are agents trying to rev up interest in their players.

So it's just a rumor? This one has me somewhat excited. A cheaper option than LMA, and more of a traditional PF.
I would suspect that we'd have to include Robinson, and I wouldn't like doing that, but ultimately I'd make the trade. If we can include Wright in the package that'd be a bonus.

Sounds great. But someone tell me why Detroit would do this? I would think they would need Rolo.

Why Drummond at Center Josh Smith at PF they need a SF and a SG to play next to Jennings, I am fairly certain a package of T Robinson or Joel Freeland, CJ McCollum and at least 1 first round pick would get their attention. Then again maybe they are asking for Matthews and Freeland etc.

I would not get too excited until we see the offer.

That's why I think the asking price is Batum.

I don't like the idea of getting rid of Robinson, but I'd do this. I'd be hesitant including the pick though - I'd at least want heavy protection on it.
If we could do the trade while keeping all our starters AND Robinson, that'd be ideal - in that case I'd loosen up on the pick. Having Rob/Monroe/LMA gives us so much flexibility - and a ton of assets - for the future.

Out of DET, ATL, POR, ORL, CLE, you'd think we'd be the most attractive destination.

Hearing a sign & trade package deal involving Detroit's Greg Monroe and N.O.'s Ryan Anderson has been discussed.

Why the fuck would Detroit do that? I thought they were trying to move Smith to PF? And what about Anthony? Isn't he a PF?

Yeah, that's right, they just traded for an expensive Asik. Weird.

I thought New Orleans had
(a) already agreed to acquire Asik, despite not having the cap room to absorb him, and therefore
(b) were desperately trying to clear cap room

How would this be possible?

Some Orlando reporter was also saying Monroe was the reason why they cleared all of their cap space. No wonder Detroit wants to get a deal done, they'll lose him to Orlando for nothing.
