Blazers are in 4th seed

Blazers win = 3rd seed
Blazers lose, Spurs lose = 4th seed
Blazers lose, Spurs win = 5th seed

Worst thing that can happen, Spurs wins and Blazers lose tomorrow. Blazers on a 5 game losing streak and lose home court advantage with the Spurs. Blazers drops the first two games in San Antonio so that’s a total of 7 game losing streak.
Yeah..That is logical. All we had to do was beat one out of the 5 losses. It feels like the '64 Phillies team that had it locked up and fucked up their own destiny.

I just read half this thread. My head is about to explode.
I need to go lay down.

I think @KingSpeed may be wrong. If it’s a three way tie, the tiebreaker to determine Home court is only between the two teams plying each other, not all three. That’s just for seeding.

So if we’re gonna lose vs Utah, we also need the pelicans to win on top of OKC.
I think you linked to a breakdown from 2010 that still references division winners automatically getting seeded in the top 4. I'm not putting any stock in that.

Tiebreak procedures are also listed at the bottom of NBA.com's "playoff picture" page.

I don’t see anything about home court tiebreakers, just seeding. I hope you’re right though because the scenario I listed sucks.

True. I'm assuming that they no longer mention anything about home court vis-à-vis seeding because they changed the seeding procedure to eliminate all the anomalies that would lead to seeding and home court disparities (such as auto-seeding division winners 1-4).

The scenario chart I posted is from the NBA. Why are you guys still arguing? Everything is right there. That has figured out all the tie-breakers right there.

Please point out where the HC tiebreakers are figured out, thanks smart guy.

Ya that's not right. Spurs game doesn't matter to us as much as the OKC game. As long as OKC wins, we get HCA
This is a crazy new twist for me! I'm feeling much better about HCA. I'm trusting you that this is right, because it doesn't seem like it should be.

First off, not sure why you are coming at me as if I did something wrong, “smart guy”? Really?
I was told from the NBA rep who sent this to us, that’s what this has done. It has figured out the tie breakers. Follow across with your finger.....UTAH won last night, then go down to whether SAS or NOLA wins...OKC/MEM........then go to the next game and so on. Then on the far right it shows who will get the seed after all the tiebreakers. Breaks it all down. Thats why I asked why people were still confused. Sorry for trying to help homie.

Ok I’ll ask again.

Please point out where home court tiebreakers are figured out.

Sooo defensive.....

I’m sorry you aren’t understanding. The colored section on the RIGHT are the final seedings after all the tie-breakers are calculated. This is what I was told when this was sent out to us. These scenarios are now cut in half after Utah beating GS last night.1BCE142B-0FBA-4F70-85BD-A0CF60B42BD6.jpeg

It’s you that’s not understanding. There’s nothing about home court tiebreakers on that chart.

But it’s ok, I found the answer.

So looks like we wont have home court if we lose to the jazz and the spurs and thunder win.

As you can see, there are now 8 scenarios for us to get #3....... 6 to get #4....... and 4 to get #5.
