Blazers win despite McMuffin and BLANKY!

I think that would make a good TV show, band name or cereal. "BLANKY & the McMuffin"

I was just thinking that if we were 20-7, there would be more posts. Bandwagoners be gone!

It's tough on a Sunday afternoon just before Christmas to watch the game and do the game thread. Lots of things to do.

Or in my case, ripping money off my friends playing poker! But I was still watching it in the background.

Great finish by the Blazers. And it was good to see Andre and Brandon on the floor together putting the game away. A very solid win. We needed it, and a split in the Dallas/SA back to back would be nice.

I ate a mcmuffin for breakfast - it was delicious in its sausage appeal.

I like the occasional McMuffin, but I'm a bit nonplussed by the somewhat random substitutions I'm confronted with when I order it. It seems like there should be a more logical, orderly process for preparing them.

I can't speak for everyone, but some of us have grown tired of the negativity and self-absorbed, attention seeking, drama queens that post here.

I prefer to watch, or listen to the games in peace without enduring all the stupidity.

I haven't, however, given up on the team. I took my youngest daughter to the Sacramento game on Tuesday, had tickets to the Phoenix game on Thursday but had to give them to a friend due to a schedule conflict, and will be taking all three kids to the 76ers game on the 28th.

I prefer to spend my energy attending the games and cheering for the team, rather than waste it reading the rants of the forum divas that post in the game threads.

BNM

I must spread more rep before repping you again.

Good job Portland! Good to see our two stars play well! Good to see our starters in general kick ass... bench needs to pick it up now.

GOOOOOOOOOO Blazers!

I watch every game, it's just difficult for me to find meaningful commentary in here now. I just feel overwhelmed by so many posts by people that I can't have a satisfying debate with. I dislike the hyperbolic, panicky, unrelenting, political style of some posters who I suspect believe they will be read by someone at One Center Court, so "let's turn up the anger and start calling them names!", so I feel like commenting would be a big waste of time. I like difference of opinion, but I prefer a little give and take and a little "I see where you're coming from". I don't mind being told I'm wrong, but I want to feel like maybe the posters I'm talking to are talking to me, and not talking at any possible silent viewership.

Looks like the team is adjusting to the short roster. That was a huge win... like many wins we saw last year. Lets hope for a little roll.

Yes . . . needed that game.

Roy starting to do it game in and game out. I was a little rough on him in the early part of the year, but it looks like he is playing hard, grinding it out on the court (with less complaining) and just doesn't feel like the frustrated or prima donna attitude anymore (win or lose).

But more importantly, I thought that was Miller's best game for the Blazers so far. He was another scoring option without taking away from Brandon. I think he actaully played well with Roy last night. Still don't like having him set up on the three point line when Roy is in iso mode . . . but I hope as the season goes on, Miller learns other places he can recieve the ball from Roy. Once he learns where he is likely to get the ball if Roy needs help, he can drive or pass and keep that ball moving. I really like what I saw from Miller last night.

Brandon's shot is back. This was the main cause of his slump earlier this season.

He abused Wade/Richardson and Pietrus was his bitch.

agreed he was also kinda sloppy with his dribbles earlier too now hes back to his smoothness. And while im glad he took this summer off to rest his body. he needs to keep up with at least his basketball skills during summer by keeping his shot good or something

I am hoping now more than ever for a consolidation trade. Problem with having so much talent, is if you are a bench guy and have a bad game, you may not see playing time for a while because there are so many other talented players that deserve a shot.

I would rather have a solid 8 that you live and die with and not have 4 other players the coach feels it necessary to get them playing time. Cuningham, Pendergraph, Howard and Mills with 8 players who get almost all the minutes (means a couple have to go)

when you say the "bench needs to pick it up"

who exactly is "gonna pick it up" until rudy comes back?

lets take a look to see why thats a dumb statement...

Howard - Is so bad that when he comes in during any stretch... you can also most gurantee we lose the lead or let the other team add on to their lead. no chance he "picks it up"

Bayless - Webster 2.0 and what i mean is... streaky with no consistent jumper that falls. put his head down and hope for the best. For as many Suns games he has... he has about 4 bad ones shooting the ball.

Blake - If his 3 pointer isnt falling.. hes fairly useless. Seems like hes out of his slump but he offers nothing.

Cunningham - Worse then Howard. Offers zero.

out of those 4 names... the only one who has a chance to score more then 10 is Bayless if his shot is falling. If not... we need 25 from both roy and la to have a shot at a win.

When Rudy comes back it will be an instant upgrade. We will then have more of a chance vs good teams. He should be back by the 2nd week of Jan i hope. I just wonder where he plays. Im thinking SF till Batum comes back and grabs the backup. Although knowing Nate.... if batum could guard some PF's... i think thats what you will see. A lineup of Blake, Bayless, Rudy, Batum and LA. Which means.. BYE HOWARD aND CUNNIGHAM. Thank god.

I don't mean anyone specifically, really. Just the bench as a whole. If we want to consistently win, we can't expect this from our starters every night. They need help.

I think Blake and Bayless can add some scoring, and Howard and Cunningham can get the starters some relief and just try to be solid and play their role.

I see what you are saying though. I agree. We have a very limited team right now, but we can't give up just because we only have 9 guys. We need production from the bench. These are NBA quality players. Time to step up.

I was very pleased with the win, and our overall performance the last 4 (I think) games.

wow a s2 poster making sense... and not saying howard and cunningham are the answer?

could it be?

Can you show a post where someone said they were the answer?

well they are always being defended by posters on here. If you defend someone then you agree or support them. I dont support them cause they suck. I know with more playing time Tolliver is better then both. And thats sad. Its also a glaring hole in our GMs plans for this season. oden went down the 5th and still no trade has been made to upgrade the PF/C spot. What happens if Joel or LA get hurt? Howard starts?

NOW THATS LOL... no that LMFAO

Maybe, just maybe that's because there are no trades to be had. :devilwink:

The current guys appear to be hanging in there, though...

did you watch the games before late december??? all i said there was true.

howard stepped up but he was brutal in early season

I sure did and I NEVER had the same feelings as you about ANY of the guys you've listed above. As always you're just MIXUM being MIXUM. Can't knock you for being inconsistent, though.
