The bobcats expansion are very close now, it is june 4 i think , any here are my list of blazers i want to keep.

1 Theo Ralfit
2 Zach Randolph
3 Derek Anderson
4 Damon Stoudimare
5 Shareef
6 Dale Davis
7 Travis Outlaw
8 Ruben or Q.Woods

Free Agent D-Miles

Leftovers:
Ruben/ Q.Woods
Omar Cook
Eddi Gill
Dan Dickau

The blazers should keep both Damon and Dale because they have the final year of their contract, which means two things, they will play better, and they are very attractive to those rebuliding teams.
Feel free to make any suggestions

quyntel over ruben... woods might show up to play yet but patterson is old enough and isn't contributing
then again... if you look at it from the "let's clean up our image" standpoint the only foulup we will keep in the long run is Randolph... but as you say stoudamire is on the last year of his contract. I see Miles and Woods got out of trouble with the strip club fight. that is a lifesaver for them but it's still pathetic.
Such a quiet little city as Portland (I've lived there for 4 years so I've earned my judgement) does not deserve the thug team

Damon
Zach
Derek
Miles
Theo
SAR
Rube
Dale

Qyntel, young and good, isn't a solid enough player for the Blazers to rely on. Ruben and Dale are huge uplifting forces off the bench and should be kept on the team for sure.

Theo Ratliff
5) Ruben Patterson
6) Derek Anderson (i guess =/)
7) S. Abdur-Rahim(then trade him)

so that leaves the Bobcats a selection from

Omar Cook
Dan Dickau(please take him)
Dale Davis
Eddie Gill
Vladimir Stepania(lol)
Qyntel Woods

Protected:
1)Zach Randolph
2)Theo Ratliff
3)Damon Stoudemire
4)Darius Miles
5)Travis Outlaw(Rookie with lots of potential)
6)Derek Anderson
7)Qyntel Woods
8)Shareef Abdur Rahim

Darius Miles is a free agent so the blazers do need to protect him. But Qytnel should get protect over Ruben, Ruben looks like a criminal, he is probably the leading Technical foul person after Rasheed. But the blazers should trade Q.Woods away too, he has potentials but he cant play after D-Miles and Ruben, he is a odd man for the blazers, plus he has drug problems. I rather see Dan Dickau over Q.Woods.

We don't want Outlaw over Dale, Qyntel or Ruben. He just isn't that promising of a player in my opinion. And I doubt the Bobcats would take him anyways.

Your allowed to protect 8 players, and you forgot Travis Outlaw.

Outlaw is good, i will rather keep him over Ruben, i dont want another Jermaine Oneal accident happen again, outlaw is very athletic, he can block shot too. After he learn the technique from Theo he is gonna be sick. the future of the blazers are rely on Zach, Outlaw and D-Miles. A very good combination front line.

Why does everyone here like Travis Outlaw so much? I really haven't seen him play and he hasn't really played at all this season son I'm kind of curious...

Anyways back to the topic. I don't think the Blazers should even bother to protect Stoudamire. He has a very big contract anyway, and I know the Bobcats won't be looking to pick that up. That frees up one more player to protect, and even if the Bobcats for some crazy reason do pick up Damon, it would only help the Blazers cap problem.

No need for protecting D-Miles, he's a free agaent, and then you can protect some others instead, nobody can protect their free agents in other ways than giving them a better contract than Bobcats...

oh 8? well i guess Eddie Gill, sadly enough.

Travis Outlaw has no future in the NBA.

Qyntel Woods? Why? He ought to stay, he's pretty good and has the potential to become better. I think you need to get another veteran to help Mighty Mouse with the team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting panfolk:</div><div class="quote_post">who is Mighty Mouse?</div>
Damon Stoudamire.

I change my mind, the blazers should not keep Qytnel Woods, they should trade him away, Woods has drug problems, which are things the blazers dont need. Keep Ruben instead.

1. Zach Randolph
2. Shareef Abdur Rahim
3. Theo Ratliff
4. Dan Dickau
5. Dale Davis
6. Qyntel Woods
7. Ruben Patterson
8. Damon Stoudemire

Free Agents

Shawn Kemp

The Blazers should leave Derek Anderson unprotected. If he is taken the Blazers will unload his lengthy, overpriced contract. However, the Bobcats will likely pass on DA because of his contract and health concerns. This frees up an extra player to protect without a high risk of losing DA.

So we keep DA unprotected just to save Dan Dickau? I cant see why the bobcats want Dan, i personaly really like Derek Anderson, he, Theo and Shareef are important players on the blazers roster to have ZERO problems. Derek is wroth it, otherwise why not have that many nonfree agents after next year.

D.A. needs to be on the bench, hes too inconsistent as a starter, i'm sick of his 2-12 shooting nights, he had a horrible season (yeah i know he was comin off an injury)

Bring DA to the bench and start who??? Dan Dickau, unless the blazrers get a even better shotting guards like Ray Allen or Paul Piece(i hope they do even if it means to give away Zach Randolph) DA will start.

Yikes...I sure hope POR doesn't follow some of the suggestions here.

Who to protect? It should be obvious and quite easy to put together.

1) SAR
2) Zach
3) Miles - He is a Restricted FA, POR HAS to protect him, or CHA CAN select him and then he becomes an UFA that we cannot bid on.
4) Theo
5) Damon - moreso for the impending expiring contract he will become next year, but also bc he is are only VIABLE starting PG....as sad as that is IMO.
6) Dale - See above, big fat expiring contract next year..THAT has value
7) Outlaw - Too young and unknown at this point to give away, and if he were exposed (which would be asinine for POR to do) he WOULD be selected.
8) Woods - Again, he has issues for sure, is on the outs with mgmt for sure and may end up being gone next year...but he DOES have talent, he IS still young, and his contract IS cheap, all factors which, if he were available (and he shouldn't be), CHA would select him

That leves off DA and Ruben, and before anyone complains and says "you can't leave them off, CHA will pick them" Let me give you my answer.....

1) No they won't and here is why. They make TOO MUCH MONEY. CHA has a restricted cap this first year, meaning they can only take on contracts equivalent of 2/3 of the other teams. Therefore they will be seeking CHEAP contracts. Ruben and DA's contracts are not cheap, and to make matters worse they each have THREE years left on them. Not very enticing at all, nice players, but not worth the money they are getting. CHA will pass IMO, which is ok for POR

2) Even if CHA pulls a shocker and selects Ruben or DA, so what! Good... POR just freed themselves of a burdening contract, opening up even more available capspace in 05' should they choose to go that route (I do not think they will however) and the loss of either DA or Ruben is not that significant IMO. Ruben is a BACKUP SF, Miles is the starter, Qyntel (if he is around) or Outlaw could back him up, we also have TWO 1st round draft choices and the MLE and Vet mimimum to sign a FA, or via trade (SAR anyone?). Same goes for DA, his spot could be filled in through the draft, or through trade or Free Agency. I would be quite happy if CHA took one of these guys, but like I said, they won't.

Who would they take?
Probably either Cook or Dickau, maybe Gill. My guess is they wouldn't take any player from POR, they would pass on them. Otherwise Cook or Gill, as they are both young, and only have 1yr left on their deals. Dickau could be a possibility too, but he has 2? 3? years left on his deal. Unless they really like him, why take a player with more years on his deal when you don't have to?

Anyway, that is how I see it playing out. If Nash leaves Outlaw (specifically) or even Qyntel off the protected list then he is an idiot.

I guess it could work, among those players, DA are the most obivous one for the Bobcats to pick. Derek is very good player, i really him, but if we can take off his contract, we will have a lot more money to sign Darius Miles.
