Blazers front office staying the course

They are still interviewing candidates that they may or may not have permission to talk to with only a month until the draft?

Epic fail.

Not at all. The Blazers are doing a great job with their search. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Rich DeVos, Dan DeVos and Alex Martins run the draft. Portland is a model franchise, and I have the sneaky suspicion that the rest of the league will catch on. After all, sports leagues in general are copy cat leagues. They see what works and tend to go that way.

Sweet them staying the course, makes it that much easier for me to also stay the course and not give this regime another effing penny of mine.

The management (Allen, Miller, Buchanan, Mensah, etc) are extremely indecisive -- hence the low season ticket re-ups.

They are down 4% and are having a hell of a time convincing season ticket holders that they are on the right track.

Considering the past season, losing Roy and Oden, I don't think being down 3.4% at this point is all that bad. Is that just a total # of season ticket holders from last April to this? In other words if someone cancelled in October because of the lockout, that's reflected in the being 3.4% lower? yeah, I don't think that's horrible at all.

I have no idea. I was just answering BoBo's question

Holy shit - that is a travesty! It means Paul Allen is selling.

I see your faux outrage and raise you a faux sincerity.

Losing only 3.4% is damn good for a team that sucked ass the second half of the year and missed the playoffs. I'd be willing to bet that other teams in the same situation have a worse retention percentage right now.

I like Larry Miller's approach

Pretending they're just doing their due diligence instead of actually scrambling to find a GM.

"It's a process"

I compare it to finding your wife. You dont put a ring on the first girl you date. You take your time and find the right girl, a girl that you can spend the rest of your life with. The Blazers are taking their time to find the perfect GM, they dont want to make the same mistakes they have in the past (Nash, KP, Cho).

Did we once again finish second to Chicago in attendance? I'm thinking that Blazer bandwagon is not as empty as some would like to think......

I was just going on what Sarah Mensah said

According to chief operating officer Sarah Mensah, there was a 3.4 percent drop in renewals from last season, which seems awfully low considering the dramatic dropoff in product. The team even sent out a last-gasp email early this week to those who didn't renew, extending the deadline to Tuesday.

Mensah said most who didn't renew said they wanted to wait and see what the team did this summer. Who is going to be the general manager? Who will be the coach? And what kind of free agents can the team lure?

"People want to see action, not words," Mensah said. "We get that."

As promised during the lockout, I did not give them a penny last season, for the first time in I don't know when. I went to one game, for free, and then only to hang out with an old friend. Their incompetence in keeping McMulligan for 7 years is eclipsed only by their cluster fuck revolving door, and since then locked door, to the GM position. What a joke.

Except this isn't a lifetime commitment we're talking about ... it's a business filling a vacant position; and FYI there is no such thing as a "perfect GM," the goal should be to find a good one (and that doesn't take over a year for 29 other NBA teams).

Trying to use women to compare anything will not work with this group. Like asking a blind person what a sunset looks like........
