I don’t know what that move at 1:00 is but he’s done it multiple times.

Is that guy Calabro Junior? He kept calling the basket "the cup".

Those announcers were so bad.

Good point. Sounds like Baldwin needs to be brought up to change our flow. We need change.

Yes and we need to give up on the McCollum point guard experiment once and for all. Baldwin is an actual point guard. I actually think he’s a better passer than Napier as well.

I'm really surprised & disappointed that Portland didn't call Baldwin up while Dame has been out.

It would've been nice to see how well his game translates.
I'm a little skeptical since Memphis cut him & gave up on him
maybe they are trying to pump up Napiers value? in any case its working and I believe we still have an open roster spot and I'd be very surprised if we don't do some type of trade before the deadline

They ran a lot more last year with the same players. Harkless does his best work on the break. Aminu is a good finisher if he doesn't have to dribble. Vonleh finishes with authority on the break. Dame can certainly finish on the run. Connaughton certainly has ups. CJ finishes well even though it's with more finesse. Meyers actually finishes quite well on the break.

Something happened that this year they just don't run for whatever reason when the same guys ran much more last year and it certainly fits their skills set more than the half court in many cases.

Portland was ranked in the bottom 10 last year in fastbreak points too. nothing happened, they just aren’t good at it.

Just finished Swanigans game. I think I might just watch the replays from now on so I don’t have to watch an entire g league game live.

This game was a great example of the box score not telling the whole story. Swanigan had 17 points (8-14 shooting) and 9 rebounds, but got outplayed by both Bolomboy and former Blazer great Cliff Alexander (who btw should be in the NBA.) Swanigan has a high bball IQ, he’s consistently where he needs to be, and his instincts for the ball are there, but his lack of athleticism kills him. And this is the gleague. He needs to get in top shape because he can’t afford to sacrifice any of the athleticism he does have in his body.

I’m just going to pretend Baldwin was our pick at 26, because he’s much more intriguing. I don’t want to doubt Biggie because he’s got the work ethic, but he’s got a long way to go. His upside to me right now is a late career Boris Diaw.

Bottom 10 to last is a 50% decline.....that is fairly significant. Not saying they were the Warriors but they did run more with the same players. It has really affected Harkless because that is where he is best.

I'm really sold on Baldwin IV as a keeper..at this point I'm ready for a change that includes someone who has some zip and accuracy passing the ball.

I really don't see the Westbrook comparisons. He reminds me oddly of Slo-Mo because of his humungous arms. Also he doesn't strike me as that fast or athletic but has long strides.

Stupid Olshey, picking Baldwin over Kuzma AND Jordan Bell...

This game was a great example of the box score not telling the whole story.

When a player is sent down for a few days, the G-League coach is often told to "feature" him, i.e. place him into leadership plays he hasn't earned. The regulars put up with their fake star, knowing it's temporary.

The Westbrook comparison is pretty easy to see imo. Baldwin is nowhere near Westbrook athletically (who is) but their games are identical. Downhill attack minded offense with a pull up midrange. Inconsistent outside shot. Good on ball defenders. Can make an impact in multiple ways. Confident swagger.

Slo mo comp? Not athletic? Don’t see either one. Slo mo is a half court player. Baldwin is the opposite.

I don’t know what this has to do with Swanigan.

Besides, the g league is full of selfish players, and I’m not sure you can call anyone a “regular.” No one is trying to stick in the g league.

What the hell? You can't disagree with what I said, so you try to pick it apart semantically? Weird.

What does it have to do with Swanigan??? Or do you just randomly talk about whatever you want

How can I avoid typing a thousand words to explain the elementary. How about: You said X about Swanigan, and I explained X. That made my explanation about Swanigan.

So you’re suggesting they were trying to feature Swanigan? Because they weren’t.

One thing I notice Baldwin doing a lot is creating a situation which forces or draws more than one defender to him thereby creating a passing lane or opportunity for a teammate. He is either doing it on purpose or it is just a natural feel for which he is immediately prepared to make the appropriate pass. Sometimes he will go right at a teammates defender just so there is a hedge or reaction that creates an opening for his teammate.

CJ....take note.

Baldwin’s game just ended. His line: 18pts (2-9 shooting), 4 rebounds, 2 assists. 14-14 at the line.

It was a really weird game. He got in foul trouble in the first half. On top of that, he was playing SG while some ballhog got a chance at PG the whole game. Baldwin was never really in a rhythm but he got to the line at will. He should’ve had even more attempts but the officiating was awful, and Baldwin was visibly frustrated.

Really just a throwaway game.

G league pass alert lol. Swanigan is putting on a show. It's halftime and he has 18 points. Hasn't missed a shot. Game is on Facebook live. Canton charge. I'll post a review after the game but this is the best I've seen him and I've also seen some encouraging adjustments he's made.

Swanigans final line: 28 points (9-13 shooting) 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block.

So canton was playing the bucks dleague squad, the same squad Biggie looked underwhelming against a couple days ago. Tonight, he was all over the place in the first half and late in the fourth quarter. The adjustment I saw was a lack of hesitation. No pump fakes. Just going up strong. That tailed a bit in the second half but he finished strong and was a big reason why they almost won the game.

The bad? 7 turnovers, and Cliff Alexander, who went undrafted, looked just as good, if not better. If I’m Olshey and watching these games, I’m taking note of Alexander. He looks like he’s lost some weight. He’s also added a three point shot (37% on the season) and makes his free throws. A junkyard player with a jumper, what’s not to like? He’s also much more athletic than Biggie. He should be in the league. I want him back!
