Blazers getting way too cocky

This ended up on Mike and Mike this morning. Both said it was total bush league. Not this in particular, but teams degrading others with their official twitter account.

Again, bigger story than some of you think. I agree, it shouldn't be, but it is
And once again I don't speak for the masses. I'm used to it. :)

Team President sure does sound like he's looking to fire some people on this.
LOL So the new management trolls for hits. Anything to get noticed. What's next? Miley Cyrus doing the...umm...National Anthem?

Is barfo now running twitter for the Blazers? This sounds like something he would write, since it makes me laugh. Blazers are going full Ripcitytwo now.

So, guess this really did turn out to be a very minor deal that some people overreacted to.

The east is weak but...

They have the NBA Champions and until someone knocks them off that platform, the east has the best team.

As for the Tweet, I can't believe the owner endorses this or anyone in higher management would. Wouldn't be suprised if someone if whoever posted this was told to bring it down just a touch

My guess would be tweeting like that one time for fun and its gets national attention - ok. Repeated offenses - not ok.

I hope that Indiana or Miami feel the need to use this as motivation when we play them in the finals.

I can't help but wonder what the reactions would be if a team called out the Blazers on their official twitter account. This place gets it's panties in a bunch when a national writer says anything remotely negative about a player or the team.
You mean kinda like people said yeah we played a soft schedule but gs, okc, ind, chi will surely beat us? And then we won them all.

You're throwing the majority of people into the minority that actually do.

I am not naming names, but I know of only 2-3 people that actually would. The rest of us are just flippant about it.

You mean like in the way Phoenix responded to our tweet, and how most here thought it was pretty funny?

I really don't see anything at all wrong with that tweet. I thought it was funny, and Phoenix reply was hilarious. I hope they continue trying stuff like this. It didn't insult any specific fan base or team, it just commented on what is obvious from looking at win/loss records. If these numbers hold eastern teams will be making the playoffs with only 37 wins while in the west it will take 45 wins. That's a huge difference.

Five pages of this "cocky" banter and no one has even mentioned that Luke Skywalker blew up the Death Star after being told "don't get cocky".

I'm hope the team isn't getting as cocky as some of the fans

You know the early success has gone to our heads when people are saying 10-0 in the next ten games

Heh. I did say 10-0, but I know pretty much it'll be 8-2.

I just don't want to lose to Houston, and I just want to win against Miami! So sue me. lol.

it'll be pretty easy to be cocky at 27-3.

waiting for kingspeed to make a thread asking if we can beat the bulls regular season record

If we go 9-1 or 10-0 the next 10, then yeah, I could see it. Especially if we beat the Heat. Then the waiting game is on for that thread.

Or beat the Laker's win streak record

We are going to lose games. It will happen. I will be psyched if we finish top four. I want HCA very badly. If we end up winning 55ish games, I will be one happy fan.

I predicted 55 I think. Is be happy there too, but they exceeded by expectations so far, we will win 58-60 games this year.

I had 44 but upped our wins by fifteen, so now I'm looking for 59 wins. That means the Blazers will still lose 20 more times.

As long as the losses aren't streaks. It would be nice to only lose once in a while and I'm fine with that. Every team loses once in a while, it's just how you lose that separates the contenders from the pretenders.

The issue is that it's getting national attention. In the end, the the tweet turns into black board material. And the Blazer organization who has spent the majority of their recent years in the lottery has suddenly has a big head due to a quick start. I hope they don't fall on their behind. What's wrong with being humble?
