OT Blazers Inspiration to Me

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Thats incredible!
Compared to previous diagnosis’, and how you are doing better, hopefully you passed along some of your fight and strength to the team so they can bring you a ring come seasons end!
The VA has assigned a large team of varios specialists to me:
Palliative care doctors, kidney doctors, social care workers, cardiologists, hospice, blood test technicians, radiologists, various nurses and physical therapists. There's a few others I've left out for brevity. Some of them come to my house.
I'm doing all of my exercises and then some so that I can now, with the aid of my walker, stand up without assistance. I feel stronger than I have in a few months now. I was having a lot of trouble sleeping thinking of the future my wife and I face but the exercise has helped my sleep.
An added comfort is the strong reassurance from the VA's chief of palliative care that I will not be in discomfort when the time comes.
In the meantime, I'm gonna crack jokes whenever the opportunity arises.

You should have asked Dame to score 100 points in a game for you.

@Lanny they burnt your lollipop!
That was an amazingly delicious prime rib eye steak, about two and maybe more pounds. Homer Loves Koolaid cooked that and it was supremely juicy. We also had baked potato, tossed salad, beer of various sorts, soft drinks and New York style cheese cake. We also had a beautiful watermelon but everyone was so stuffed that it went untouched.

Crackem like a nut, my friend!!! :)
Sooo happy to see/hear you doing better!
By mid season you will be at the games again.
Mark my words!

Last Saturday, my birthday, Blaze and my account rep. stopped by my house and presented me with a talking picture frame with most of the Blazers including Anfernee Simons and Lilard offering their best wishes to me by name. Lillard even offered a prayer for me. One of the most touching moments of my life.
@SlyPokerDog break out your record book! Is this the most liked post in S2 history?
If not, we need to create a few more slypoker accounts!!!!

@UncleCliffy'sDaddy on the left with the Giants shirt. Always a pleasure to visit with!

That's my very close friend from my youth. We were like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, fishing, swimming in the lake and riding ours all over Oswego. Jerry was better than me at everything except school. I love him like a brother.
Uncle Cliffy's dad is on my far right.
Jerry fished for crab in Alaska many years ago and was one strongest and toughest guys I ever knew until he got fucked up first by the navy and then by having a crab pot fall on his head. He's now disabled.
In the background is our part time house maid that the VA has supplied us.
Along the back wall is one of three fireplaces we have. My natural father who died in a fishing accident while I was in Viet Nam was a brick layer so I love fire places.

I second Lanny's comments on the steak. Absolutely outstanding. Last time I saw a piece of meat that big was when I was standing next to Lanny at a Moda Center urinal........and the rest of the meal was wonderful too! It was a great day to be a Beav....and a friend of Lanny's.

Except for my wife and my in-laws I have no other family.
