Blazers are intriguing suitor for Hawes, who still lives in his native Seattle. Terry Stotts laid out how he'd use Hawes in meeting.

Hang out at the 3 pt line and wait for the ball to be passed to you.

Maybe Spence would give us the Northwest discount since we're the closest thing to his hometown.

I like Lopez the hippie. Hawes is Redundant Right. We don't need a pair of the same thing.

I'd take Hawes over Frye easily. Hawes would bring instant offense to our bench. Upgrade our bench scoring immediately.

Looks like first person Olshey meets with is Hawes agent in LA. . . . seems indicative of who is first on his list of wants.

Following up @WojYahooNBA report on Spencer Hawes' meeting w Blazers ... Cavs interested, but told re-signing w team not priority for him.

Stotts loves his big men who can shoot from distance

And that's how you get a sign-and-trade done.

I bet he's ours unless some stupid team with cap space offers him too much.

So if Hawes wants 8 mil per, and Cleveland is under the cap, we don't have to worry about matching salaries?

What scenario would benefit the Cavs? (Realistically)

He's younger. I think he has better numbers too.

Yeah, more points, more rebounds, more blocks, higher 2pt percentage, higher 3pt percentage, higher PER, everything. Hawes is definitely better than Channing Frye.

We need to sell him on living out in Scappoose or Estacada or something. I know he's a super conservative and all.

One racked up stats on a gimmick offense in Philly. The other was a key piece to a 50 win team.

I prefer Hawes as well going forward but Frye was a more effective player last season in my opinion.
