Blazers interested in Spencer Hawes

While I'm not a big fan of hawes, if we could get him in a sign and trade for freeland and wright while preserving the MLE, I'd be for that.

Here's an interesting cocktail to serve up in S&T scenarios. CJ+Freeland+Wright. Freeland and Wright are serviceable guys to any team, and CJ is probably more tantalizing than a future pick. More than that the Blazers could take back around $12.5 mill in contract.

I'd we very happy if we got Hawes, after that it's all gravy as we will likely get a solid backup PG (maybe Mo stays) and perhaps a wing - I'd really like to try to get Thad Young from Philly for a CJ and change trade. Pierce is very low probability IMO but would love to get him

If we're looking at recreating the Philly lineup from last year for our BENCH, I'd look at Turner. S&T for Hawes, and MLE for Turner (I like him better than Pierce or Carter), and ~BAE for BPA PG.

Yup. I think it was more Lance than Evan that caused issues in Indy. Turner does not have much of a personality, but as a guy who would be a supporting character on the bench, he'd be perfect. I like his ability to slash and create off the dribble. And he's young enough to be able to improve on D, so we'd have another guy to throw at KD in the playoffs.

Career speaking, wright has been better than Turner....I think. Hawes over Freeland would be the upgrade and I'm not sure that means greatly

That team could legitimately be 9 deep.

I'd put us ahead of OKC who isn't doing anything this summer. Clips + Pierce - Crawful and Collison would take a step back. SAS - Patty could take a small step back. HOU - Asik could take a step back depending on whom they add in his absence. GS - Klay + Love would be up there with us. But I don't see any teams other drastically better than us.

We can't absorb using the MLE. A trade of Wright + Freeland would allow us to take back up to 9.4 mill though. That would preserve our MLE for a new backup 3.

If the team keeps progressing due to an improved bench then that pock falls into the end of the 1st round, so sure why not.

Ok. I think Blake is a good fit in stotts system and he loves Portland. Either way, take him out and put in someone else if you please.

Guys like sessions would fit terribly in stotts system. Nelson maybe, but i bet he gets offered 3-4 million which is more than we can offer if we got Frye.

I guess you could go Kaman or oneal with the bae and nelson with part if the mle

Philly would probably be interested with both those players because they need a vet wing, plus they can wait for Leonard to develop (rebuilding mode). And doing that deal would still leave us the flexibility to use the MLE on another player.
