Portland is still involved in trade talks, looking for another option. Sources said they have had an ongoing dialogue with Philadelphia who has yet to tip their hand on Andre Iguodala. Portland seems open to taking on the contract dollars, but with Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw off the table to the LA Clippers, Portland might have to dip into their depth and seem open to the idea for the right 'upgrade' in talent.

When it comes to rumors and actual trade talks I think Merlin is a more reliable source.

...Merlin

Roy and Aldridge for Iggy and Dalembert.

If they're willing to deal Iggy for young talent without shedding Dalembert, I suggested this earlier. Gets us both Iggy and Thomas in exchange for Rudy, Bayless, Webster, Joel (& picks/cash as necessary). Might not be enough for Philly, but it's a thought.

Obviously too good to be true

I dunno--gets Chicago the expiring contract they want, saves Philly a TON of money, and gives Philly some exciting young prospects for their rebuild. You'd think they'd have to consider it.

PP, that would be awesome. We could even field a lineup of Roy-Ig-Batum if needed.

If Portland is trading Bayless, I hope the idea would be to play Roy-Iggy-Batum as the starters, long-term, and let the passing skill of all three compensate for no pure point guard.

What about this? Obviously Portland wins in the talent for talent category, but in terms of the getting out from under their long term salary commitment while also getting back some good-ish young talent, it might be palatable to the Sixers (but you gotta think there would be more attractive offers out there?).

Haha, you're so mad for Jrue. I get the sense you'll be heart-broken if he never plays for the Blazers.

 No, not exactly, but if we're shipping Bayless we need to get at least one youngish point guard back and I don't exactly want Lou Williams.

The sixers don't get enough in that deal.

Rudy, Webster, Mills, and a 1st round pick for Iggy?

would we have any 3 pt shooting left? also not nearly enough salary on our side. For Joel and Webs and a pick I consider it, that's about the only way though and I doubt Philly takes that.

I think you severely underrate Iggy if you think THAT's his value.

did you read the part where I said I doubt Philly considers that?

Yes, but that relates to how they rate him. The indicator on how you rate him is here:

UPDATE from SI about Sixers chances of trade

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/chris_mannix/02/17/trade.rumors/index.html

The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the most proactive teams in trade talks over the last two weeks, but indications around the league are that the struggling Sixers may be pulling back before the deadline.

Sources say Philadelphia -- which has dangled Samuel Dalembert, Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand in various deals -- has been less involved in trade discussions over the last 48 hours. According to one source, Philadelphia¹s chances of making a deal before Thursday's deadline are "50-50" and that the team will not hold a fire sale for its available talent.

No its not, I rate Iggy high enough that I don't think Philly would consider that deal. I'd love to do that trade if they were desperate enough to move him, but IMO they are not at all that desperate. You chose to focus on one part of the comments I made and made an assumption when the other part clear said I DO NOT THINK THEY CONSIDER THAR DEAL - is it really hard to comprehend what I meant? or are you just arguing for the sake of aguing?

It is only hard to comrehend if you are unclear. So, to clarify, if Philly would accept it, you would trade Joel and Webster for Iguodala. However, if Philly insisted on Rudy as well, would you trade Joel/Webster/Rudy for Iguodala? If not, then I believe that you severely underrate Iguodala. If so, then I retract my statement.

I sure hope POR could pull a deal for Iguodala...I think any 2 of Batum, Rudy or Bayless should be on the table, plus draft picks and cold hard cash (if need be) and whatever else is needed to make salaries match (Joel)....

With all of Roy's injuries to to date, I think it is imperative that Pritchard look to acquire another All-star or near All-Star caliber player that can pick up the slack and allow Aldridge to play that supporting star role, b\c I don't think he can carry the team by himself and he has proven to date that he cannot....

and here Iguodala is, allegedly available....and POR has young players they could send back in a deal...Iguodala is only 26, fits right in with the young core, would make the team significantly better now and going forward....

If he is there for the taking, POR needs to act IMO....You don't get too many chances like this...to acquire a young all-Star caliber player in his prime, and I think the team would be wise to capitalize on this opportunity if they can.....

and for all the potential of Rudy and Batum....I'll take the PROVEN commodity in Iguodala over both of them any day....

LOL not going to waste any more time arguing semantics with you

Don't forget, we could turn round and trade Camby, provided it was in a single trade (i.e., he can't be bundled with other players). So in theory, we could have two parallel trades: Camby for Dalembert and then other players for Iguodala, with a wink-wink agreement that the only reason we're doing the first is because of the second.
