Except for very few that shine from day one. I think teams that want to advance must NOT just depend on draft but have proven vets that can compliment players drafted. And with salary considerations. That can happen through trades or FA. Detroit and Knicks are a good example of teams that are now trying a different formula by adding solid proven vets to compliment the few aces that were drafted.

Yeah, absolutely. Trades and free agency will be a big part of any championship run. I've never suggested otherwise.

Even with a proper and successful rebuild strategy that drafts a ton of young talent you're going to need quality trades and/or free agent signings to compete for a title, as well as to remains relevant once you get there.

But you have to crawl before you walk. And walk before you run. The teams with the best foundation will have the most success.

And our foundation simply doesn't measure up yet.

What you see might be what you get with Sabonis at this point. But I think we can all agree hearing the name Sabonis again during the announcements would be legendary.

San Antonio didn't start scrubs this season as some people try to falsely insinuate to try to back up a foolish claim that we should have played scrubs over our vets. In no world was that a reality. Not our world and not San Antonios world.

Yikes. This team is finally building a defensive identity. DS struggles with switching defense as a 5, putting him at 4 is... yikes and a half.

I can't imagine it happening given what we have seen from the FO and the roster they are trying to build.

hell no. If he’s available for cheap, sure. But sending out multiple firsts for a no defense big (not even a top 15 center in the nba) would be a disaster.
