Blazers making offer to Kanter

The Thunder media is all over not matching Kanter. I think he'll be a Blazer.

as has been stated before, this is the same club that let floppy beard get away because of cap issues...they will have to resign KD next year etc etc..I give it a 50/50 chance that they dont match.

This is kinda my thinking...However, I went back to check what they gave up for him. They made a deal that sent a couple of players and a conditional first round pick for him fully knowing his FA status. I'm not sure they make a move for him unless they were pretty comfortable that he was a player they would match...

It's hard to tell. 70 mil is a big a number for a owner that requested his general manager to move James Harden because he didn't want to pay for him. Why would he pay for Kanter?

Finally, aother 7-2 guy in Portland. There are so few of us, I'll go hang out with him.

Offer sheet was received Thursday afternoon around 2:30pm PST. Thunder have till tomorrow to respond. All comments by Preati were made before the offer sheet was received.

38 pages now for a signing that won't happen? Good grief. You people realize Presti was quoted that they will match just yesterday don't you?

He said it was his intention to match. It gives him a bit of an out if he doesn't. The signing already happened, it's just whether OKC pulls him back. Thunder fans are about 60/40 against keeping him.

Probably late yesterday. When Presti was interviewed yesterday they hadn't received it yet.

He received it right after that interview, which was around noon Pacific on Thursday, IIRC. Which gives them til Sunday to match, as all media, including Woj, has reported.

Your math is way off. 72 hours = tomorrow afternoon?

Yes, tomorrow afternoon.

It was sent at 1:30 PT on Thursday according to Quick. 72 hours is 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. If you need help with that, I will show you how it's so.

then there's that pesky time zone difference...Pacific time or Central time?

It seems like they're getting a lot of pressure from their press and fans to not match, it will be interesting to see if that plays into it at all.

They all wait until the last minute. I honestly can't remember the last time an RFA wasn't matched at the last minute.
Why not wait, the player could be in an auto accident the morning of the signing day.

Well since he first said 1:30 PT (Pacific Time), I think Logic will give you the answer
then there's that logic that says it's 3 days from the time Presti gets the offer..I assume he gets it in OKC

Just to clarify; Presti said even after he heard about Portland's offer, that they were going to match.
One more thing; I usually don't stick my neck out here because you never know when some wiseguy will repost your comments two years down the road; but I really, really, really do not want this guy as a Blazer.

When it was delivered to Presti by 1:30 PT, it's whatever time in Presti's world of time. But the end result is 3 days from the reported time he got it

He actually didn't say they're were going to match. He said their intention has been to match and it hasn't changed. He then went on to say they have planned for an offer sheets such as the one he was hearing of.

I haven't heard a specific quote post him receiving the actual offer sheet. Nor have I heard a quote specifically saying they are going to match.

no worries...just let me book mark this for when the guy helps us to a 55 win season next year

I was kidding. If you read the post you responded to, it makes it sound like you're saying 72 hours from now is tomorrow. Thanks for playing.

I thought I read they actually had until the end of tomorrow, though, not just a straight 72 hours.
