BTW, Dame's max is bigger than LMA's max.

If thats the kind of crap that we have to do to keep LMA in town I almost want to see him walk. Thats an insecure loser way of thinking. LMA rookie extension was a whole different management team and almost a decade ago. Grow the fuck up.

I question this. As has been said in several threads, players output and drive can sway depending on their situation. Hibbert is in one of the most controversial situations in the league. A highhopes team that failed. a team that backed the guy who slept with his girl. I would lose motivation too.
You put Hibbert with this group and I think we have a team. AMinu closing drivers down on the perimeter and wing. Hibbert down low to stop anyone that gets through. Then on Offence, Hibbert down low with LMA spacing from his usual comfort zone. Go get a Starting SG and I think I am content to see what happens until next year. A team that can possibly make the playoffs and win a round, but with a great young future.
I'm not sure if extending Lillard this early was the right move. It's going to make LMA think back to his extension. It didn't happen until right before the October deadline and he had to fight for every dollar. While it's right to give Lillard the extension, Olshey should have waited until after the LMA situation is finalized. Now LMA is going to hear this and think back to when Roy was almost immediately extended and he wasn't.
If we get Monroe, then I doubt we would go after Hibbert. Hibbert works with LA, but doesn't with Monroe, simply because Monroe has zero range outside the paint.
Now if we could put Hibbert with Leonard and the second unit, it could work, but $15 mil for a back up center? Is whitsett running the team again?!?!
It's just the opposite, of course. You'll get to play with a top 5 PG for the rest of your career if you stay.Maybe this is a fuck you to Aldridge?
Let's say LMA walks... Monroe and Noah would be a pretty awesome duo because Noah has great passing, both are great pick and roll players, Noah is damn good with running the offense. With the current roster shaping out. I would MUCH rather have Hibbert than Monroe. Obviously if we keep LMA. If LMA leaves, then Monroe it is and we are in a semi rebuild with a young core.
Probably even the starterIt's just the opposite, of course. You'll get to play with a top 5 PG for the rest of your career if you stay.
Interestingly, if I were Aldridge I'd be mildly interested in Toronto. They already have a good team without him. He'd be in the playoffs every year for the rest of his career in the Leastern Conference, and probably an all star each year, too.
Dear God...max money at Wade?Let's say LMA walks... Monroe and Noah would be a pretty awesome duo because Noah has great passing, both are great pick and roll players, Noah is damn good with running the offense.
Or we could toss Max money at Love, which would kinda suck because love is a horrible defender, but has the range to keep defenses honest.
Or they could go after Wade and toss max money at him, giving us a line up of Dame, Wade, Aminu, Leonard, Monroe
Back ups of: Plumlee, CJ, Von, Fraizer, Crabbe, and Henderson.
he's even better off of it as an ambassador for this team

I like Dame a lot, buuuut I think it's a stretch to say he's a top 5 PG.It's just the opposite, of course. You'll get to play with a top 5 PG for the rest of your career if you stay.
Ah, some sanity.it's a stretch to say he's a top 5 PG
He's 2nd tier for sure, but he's 24 and improving yearly. Considering his impact off the floor and our apparent difficulty in drawing free agents, Dame getting maxed out was a foregone conclusion.I like Dame a lot, buuuut I think it's a stretch to say he's a top 5 PG.
I hate it when you make a serious post.I'm not sure if extending Lillard this early was the right move. It's going to make LMA think back to his extension. Look at Steve Nash & Jason Kidd. Neither one could guard a chair either.Expected.
Now if only he could guard a chair.
Oh, absolutely. But the fact remains that he's second tier - that's all I was getting at.Considering his impact off the floor and our apparent difficulty in drawing free agents, Dame getting maxed out was a foregone conclusion.
You mean 9-time all-Defense Jason Kidd?Look at Steve Nash & Jason Kidd. Neither one could guard a chair either.

)LOL!You mean 9-time all-Defense Jason Kidd?
Actually I don't think that's true, since Dame's contract starts next summer. So LMA is gone. We can only give one 5 year per team. Damian just got it.
Kidd got a ring in Dallas if I'm not mistakenAnd neither of them retired a champion either. No rings. (Playing devil's advocate. Not worried about Dame in the least.)
