If Paul Allen contacted JO and offered him a roster spot, maybe just mayb ONeal would have reason to follow him on twitter..which then would mean that indirectly Allen did get him to follow him on twitterPaul Allen can't have Oneal follow him! Lol
I'm fairly sure it's the other way around, O'Neal's agent is asking around looking for possible teams, and told JO to follow PA for potential future interview purposes. I'd be surprised if the Blazers specifically initiated contact. If Paul Allen contacted JO and offered him a roster spot, maybe just mayb ONeal would have reason to follow him on twitter..which then would mean that indirectly Allen did get him to follow him on twitter
I believe this is a sure thing now... It's pretty awesome actually! I've been wanting Jerm for 5 years now. It's a shame it's on his declining years though...And since his wife is from Portland, and he has a home in Portland, I can totally see him coming to..... Portland.

He's 36..two years younger than Duncan and four years younger than Nash. Seems old because he started out of high schoolI believe this is a sure thing now... It's pretty awesome actually! I've been wanting Jerm for 5 years now. It's a shame it's on his declining years though...![]()
That's what they all say. Funny thing is, most go to the teams that pony up the most money. Very seldum is it the other way around.
Who would we cut? I doubt we have a 2-for-1 deal lined up just to open up a roster spot for JO.
No, but maybe there's a 2-for1 deal we want to do that's only feasible if we can get O'Neal to fill a hole that would be left by a departing player.
Good find. Pretty telling. And definitely fishy.Oneal just followed Paul Allen on twitter...
Who would that player be though? I don't consider Leonard a part of the rotation so that pretty much just leaves Freeland. I doubt they would trade Freeland. He's got more value to Portland than to any other team. The more likely scenario is a 2-1 trade involving a wing. Or just cut claver outright.
If the Blazers are looking to improve the bench scoring, I'd think that they'd be looking for an experienced wing player. The two that are rumored to be available are Green, from the Celtics, and Deng, from the Heat. The Heat are currently starting Bosh at center, so they certainly would seem to be a team that would be looking for help at that position so that Bosh could move back to PF. Freeland, Wright and Claver for Deng and Ennis (included just to clear a roster spot) works from a cap standpoint.
Deng and Batum would be a pretty awesome rotation at the SF spot. Not sure which one ultimately starts, but either way it would upgrade the bench immensely. O'Neal would give the Blazers the ability part with Freeland. Don't get me wrong, I love Freeland, but this is a time when the Blazers have to be looking to go all-in on a championship run. Their record puts them in contending status, Lillard and Aldridge have matured to a legitimate All-Star duo, and there's no super-dominant team that stands in the Blazers' way.
The thing with Deng is he can only play SF and PF (and PF is a stretch). Batum could slide to 2, which would give Deng more minutes, but that would reduce playing time for CJ and Crabbe. Don't get me wrong... Dang is 10x the player Crabbe is, but I'm hoping that Crabbe and CJ will eventually be enough for us years down the road.
The only Deng rumor I'm seeing is that the Grizzlies are pursuing him, not so much that the Heat want to ditch him. Also, with Hassan Whiteside playing well for them, at a legit 7', their need for a center may be decreasing. If Deng is available, however, T-Rob & Wright straight across for Deng also works.
Not really, no. But again, my post was IF the Heat are making him available. They would only be doing that, presumably, because they're giving up on the season, and want to clear cap room for this coming summer. That deal would accomplish that, saving them money both this year and next. You really think the Heat will give up Deng for T-Rob & Wright? Deng is a starting SF.

If you were to suggest a deal for Deng to Portland, what would you propose?
I would do that easily
