I want to get Paul, but I don't want to give up Roy, Oden, Aldridge, Batum or Bayless.
Everyone else is on the table! (No Cunningham, either.)
Don't forget, Miller, Joel, Armon, Babbitt, Williams or Camby ... but other than that everyone is on the table.

If I'm the Hornets and Paul requests a trade, I simply nod while he tells me where he wants to go and then I trade him to the one of the 29 teams in the league that gives me the best offer. To hell with letting a player tell a GM where he's going to go.

You've really blown it with me today.
That's insanity.
I think the idea is not that New Orleans will be affected by Paul's wishes, but the team trading for him. If he doesn't want to go there, and is a real risk to flee in two years, the team will offer a lot less or not offer at all. It's sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
who hired KP, funded an extensive scouting network and added sweet sweet cash on to most every trade KP made?If I'm the Hornets and Paul requests a trade, I simply nod while he tells me where he wants to go and then I trade him to the one of the 29 teams in the league that gives me the best offer. I still think even if you open it up to all 29 teams, we still have best combination of assets for NOH. And Kevin Pritchard deserves the lion share of the credit for putting those assets in place.

Wow, you really cannot detect sarcasm at all, can you? Even when it is painfully obvious.

Oh and Entity, re: link about Pippen trade, I forgot about Pippen saying he wouldn't apologize to Barkley at gunpoint. That is fucking hysterical.
''I probably should've listened to Michael a year ago when he said that Charles will never win a championship because he doesn't show any dedication,'' Pippen said. ''He's a very selfish guy. He doesn't show the desire to want to win.'' Pippen had openly pushed for a trade to the Lakers ever since his former coach Phil Jackson was given the Lakers job last June. Pippen said he would never consider apologizing to Barkley.
''I wouldn't give Charles Barkley an apology at gunpoint,'' he said. ''He can never expect an apology from me. If anything, he owes me an apology'' for the way he played.
What bothers me is that some sources seem to think Paul's ideal scenario is playing with Stoudamire and Anthony in New York. So, as others have said we take the risk that we would only have Paul for two years. Also, I guess I want a guy coming to the Blazers who thinks the ideal situation is playing with Roy and LaMarcus and the rest of the Blazers. Somebody who would just as soon live in Portland as New York. Not somebody like James who wants to live in the limelight and create a superstarteam. Maybe that's idealistic or impractical. But I do think that if a deal materializes, that the Blazers should ask for a sitdown with Paul before it is finalized. Mr Allen, Mr. Cho, Mr. Mc Millan should all be included, maybe Mr. Roy also. They need to really find out who Paul is, where his head is at, what are his plans. this is a big decision and I think the Blazers need to proceed cautiously.

Paul believes the Magic, with Dwight Howard, would be a better fit for him. Also, Paul realizes the Magic have more to offer New Orleans in a trade and therefore views it as a more realistic landing spot.
New York, Portland and Dallas are still all on Paul's short list.Orlando has now overtaken New York at the top of Chris Paul's list.
