CJ McCollum on facilities opening up: 'I am worried'

“If a team’s practice facility is no longer subject to a state or local government restriction that would prohibit use of such facility, the team may make its facility available for use by the team’s players for workouts or treatment on a voluntary, individual basis. … Each team making its facility available for use by the team’s players may designate up to a total of six assistant coaches or player development personnel who are permitted to provide individual in-person supervision of a player’s individual on-court workout, if requested by the player (i.e., “one player, one coach”). As with players, no more than four assistant coaches or player development personnel may be in a team facility at one time. It remains the case that head coaches may not participate in or observe such individual workouts (whether in close proximity or from a distance). Within two days of the first player workout or treatment at a team’s reopened facility, the team must submit the names of these six coaches [permitted to be at the facility].”

Welcome to the board! Who is your favorite Blazers of current times and who is your all time favorite?

okay Joe Jr.
NURK and Bill Walton. Sorry I can't post often I have 9 kids. Really only 4 but seems like 9 when your 50 and the youngest is 6.

My screen name seems to be odd to people. My real name is Kenny but I picked Chang as in that Seinfeld episode.

Nice!
Although I gotta be skeptical of someone who chooses that sell out Walton over a die hard like Dame. LOL. J/K. Welcome to the forum.

Ill steer you to the "why'd you choose your moniker?" thread and you can lay out your love of Chang there.

Myself I think it's too soon for sports...we haven't dealt with the second wave of the virus here yet and we don't have a tested vaccine....if they conduct safe workouts without public access and have tests available....it's a risk some might choose to take but I don't blame CJ....my daughter in law is going to have a baby this month...I want this virus gone already...I'm following the pattern New Zealand practiced with success and not getting in a rush about this danger just for the economy or for my entertainment

We're about two months out since the NBA postponed the season and I'm not sure what's really changed?

Why now? Why are they opening up facilities?

There's no vaccine and there's not enough tests, so I'm not entirely sure what the league's end game is here ...

Now, from a strictly basketball perspective, this season is far too gone to save. It's been damn near 60 days since a competitive game has taken place, the players probably haven't shot a ball in that time, and we're not even factoring the phycological impact a return could have. You're telling me players will be able to go out there and play with a clear conscience and focus entirely on the game at hand? I find that hard to believe.

TLDR: the on-court product would be awful and not worth it to risk the safety of players and staff.

They're not opening things up from a competitive standpoint. That's why head coaches aren't allowed. It's just to allow players to get in some workouts with team personnel. Not proper practices to gear up for games, as far as I can tell.

This will be the new normal. They’ll take people’s temperatures before going to theaters and sporting events. Same as taking off shoes at airport. We’ll get used to it.

Guessing there was less than 1 media personnel covering this.
At least one was peeking through the blinds:

Anyone paid for access?

Collins said as many as four players are slotted in 90-minute workout intervals. CJ McCollum said he believes the time slots were offered first to veterans. Collins said his 9 a.m. group included Nassir Little and Jusuf Nurkic. McCollum said his 10:30 slot was...

On the first day that the Trail Blazers' practice facility was reopened for individual workouts Friday, the Portland players took advantage of the opportunity.

A total of nine players out of the 11 who are still in the area showed up to use the facility. Three players -- Anfernee Simons, Trevor Ariza and Hassan Whiteside -- are not quarantined in this area.

The players were allowed to use the weight room, treatment area and court -- but were not allowed in wet areas. There is only one coach/therapist per player and those working with a player were masked and gloved.

A source confirmed that key Portland players were there, including Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony, Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins.

I've read multiple articles and heard on CNN a few times that the Antibody tests aren't all that accurate.
What the nurse that took my wife’s test told us the anti body test responds to a bunch of different viruses like SARS, mer’s, a other influenzas?
It can’t differentiate from C19?
I’d never heard that before?
