42, 37 and 36 on the week for LA! 36 on 17 shots tonight - that's ridiculously efficient.

Yep, not to mention the very impressive 12-13 from the FT line.

But he only got 4 rebounds, so clearly he's soft, and no all-star. [/Barkley]

Gotta get POW. Especially with Denver losing twice, while we went 3-0 for the week.

Definitely. Although it's no All-star selection, this will be good to have Aldridge get some recognition for all his hard work. We would be a lottery team without him.

Huh? Barkley said LA should be an allstar.

I could see Aldridge making all-NBA 3rd team if he keeps up this body of work. That is much better than an all-star appearance imo.

I'm pumped for tomorrow's game. LA vs. Love. I have a feeling that 42pt career high is gonna be broken.

The 6th to 8th seeds are all up for grabs. It's gonna be a crazy playoff race down the stretch.

True. And I like that Aldridge gets rest for the All-Star weekend. The way we are riding him, he needs a break to carry us for the 2nd half of the season.

Denver now @ 31-24, we're at 30-24.

If Portland wins tomorrow, which isn't a given, they could be tied for 2nd place in the division if Denver loses tomorrow.

It would take some unexpected losses for Portland to maintain that position going into the ASB. If they are in 2nd place by ASB, that would be absolutely amazing.

2nd place in the division could put them up to 6th, with a super slim chance at being 5th in the conference. But that would take a lot of things falling their way first (Utah losing, Denver losing and New Orleans losing against Portland). Each are a high order.

Interesting to note, we now have the longest active winning streak in the NBA!

I have a feeling that early foul trouble is in the immediate future for LMA. Stern can't have a much better player on a winning team take a big stinky dump on the "once-in-30-years" player on a 13-win team.

LA's averages for the week:

38.3pts, 7.3rebs, 2ast, 1.3stl, 1.7blk, 1.7 to, 63% FG, 85% FT in about 41 MPG.

3-0 record.

Can you say POTW?

No shit, he damn well better win Western Conference POTW. The only other player close statistically, is Carmelo Anthony (37.25 ppg), and he lead his team to three losses, not three wins.

LaMarcus should win, and it shouldn't be close.

I don't know if any stat lovers saw it, but Andre Miller was one turnover away from a triple double.

So you are saying that Kevin Love is a lock.

Nah, Love's team won too many games this week. We all know he's a stat padder on a team that doesn't win. When his team goes 2-2 for the week, it kind of ruins that image (at least temporarily - until the Wolves return to their losing ways). The Wolves need to go 0-4, or at least 1-3 for Love to uphold his images as an all-start stat padder who doesn't play defense on a losing team.

On the other hand, the other all-star stat padder who doesn't play defense, but makes all his teammates better, continues to lead his team to losses. But, he did have a couple really cool dunks. Maybe he'll get POTW. Or maybe Stern will invent a new award just for him - DOTW.

Aldridge is the first player in franchise history to score 36 or more in three straight games.

The only blemish on an otherwise great game for Andre. It's not often you see a guy score 15 points on only 6 FGA, to go along with 12 assists.

On several of those turnovers, he was stripped from behind. He was constantly beating Will Bynum off the dribble, only to have Bynum recover and poke the ball loose from behind.

Great win for the Blazers. Showed some grit to get this one done. Detroit practically handed us the game near the end though.

Really? Wow!!! LMA has obviously been balling, but this puts the three game run in real perspective.

Kudos to the team for improving their road performance. Since I jumped on Nate for not properly preparing the team to play on the road, it is only fair to note the improvement. A few weeks ago, the Blazers would have lost this game.

Love the fact that the "Nightly Notable" on NBA goes to blake griffin for scoring 25 and grabbing 13 boards while leading his team to a loss while Aldridge again puts up a huge scoring night on a win for the blazers and no love for him. I'm getting the feeling they really don't want to mention any all star snubs on there.
