we have the fewest post ups in the history of the NBA.
Good info if true. Is there a link that says that?

Our offense has been extremely effective; we have the fewest post ups in the history of the NBA.
Instead of the lack of a post player being a weakness when will people realize in today's game it's a strength?

Not sure where the link it but I heard that somewhere as well. That Portland had a historically low number of post up points this season.
Because he's young, a good post scorer, and a good passer. Basically, perfect for Stotts' offense. Defensively however...
Because there is no penalty for bumping threads like there should beWhy bump this?
IMO he should be option E or F, if we strike out elsewhere since he is like a 1 yr deal with his player option next yr we could give him a shot but only if he's capspace and maybe a 2nd rdrSo I guess knowing what little any of us truly know about the intricacies of the league, do you think Neil would be making a mistake bringing Monroe in....assuming he is still interested? The Cavs showed the world that a good defense will usually, at worse, slow down a good offense. Should Monroe, a horrible defender, be someone we are pursuing?

Seems like a bit of a baseless statement. Green was amazing in game 7 at home and they lost. Who's to say they wouldn't have still lost game 5. Green is not the reason they won or lost. The defense on Curry and Thompson wasFor all the melting down the Warriors did, if Green doesn't get suspended, they win this in 5. Bogut hadn't been injured yet and wouldn't have been attempting to play more minutes,. The Warriors were up 3-1 with momentum and going home. Then Green gets suspended, Bogut gets injured and it allows Cleveland to get back into the series.
That said, Monroe is too one-dimensional for me given the back-court's defensive inefficiencies.

Very few Bigs are rim protectors and provide some sort of mid range jump shot. This is a huge reason why the thunder kept Ibaka over Harden.
There's Marc Gasol, Ibaka, Pau Gasol ( but he is so slow at this point), Anthony Davis, KAT who can do both.
The best rim protectors have no range for the most part: gobert, Dwight, Whiteside, Drummond, Biyombo, Bogut, Henson.
Maybe a guy like Dieng, Valanciunas (he's improving Raptors aren't moving him), Alex Len could provide both down the line.
There's only one basketball still, right?Pairing Greg Monroe and Dwight Howard?
Yep. However, I can see this as the master plan that's up Neil's sleeve. There's only one basketball still, right?

If this is his was his big master plan, then he should be fired . . . maybe even shot.Yep. However, I can see this as the master plan that's up Neil's sleeve.
You might get an aggregate IQ in the triple digits, but it wouldn't be by much...Pairing Greg Monroe and Dwight Howard?
Tarred and feathered, at the very least...If this is his was his big master plan, then he should be fired . . . maybe even shot.

Who was Cleveland dumping it into in the post to score when things got tight?Golden State couldn't score to save their lives in the last 6 minutes of game 7. When things get tight and the refs swallow their whistles on all that contact, you need to have someone that can create in the post to get a bucket or create a double-team. GS had none of that and no way to combat all the physical contact.
Not sure where the link it but I heard that somewhere as well. That Portland had a historically low number of post up points this season. That is too far out of balance no matter how successful we might feel this last season was.

Attacking the basket, IMO, is much different than "creating in the post". And I don't believe that what TBPup meant, when discussing Monroe, was someone attacking the basket from out top.LeBron - well, not dumping it down to in the post, but that's not what TBpup said:
"When things get tight and the refs swallow their whistles on all that contact, you need to have someone that can create in the post to get a bucket..."
LeBron killed GSW in the paint. He attacked the basket at will, especially after they lost Bogut. 51 of the 82 FGs he made in the series were within 3 ft. of the basket.
This has little to do with Greg Monroe, and he's way down on my list of options for upgrading this team, but after trying to be the Warriors in the first three rounds by relying heavily on the 3, CLE beat GSW in the finals the old fashioned way - by attacking the rim. When Curry and Klay went cold, LeBron was busy getting layups, dunks and FTs. It was CLE's scoring in the paint that won them that series.
