What happens if Pau asks Rudy and Sergio about their experiences in Portland?

Didn't Rudy move to Mallorca? If he's still playing he's probably too busy chasing tail on the beach to care to return the call.

New rumor I'm hearing from my sources: Gasol is nearing a deal with GS, Neil is putting plan B into motion, and will offer Charlie Villanueva a 2 year 35 million dollar contract.
Plan B? I think they past that a long time ago. I predict the Blazers are really scrambling to find upgrades.

I just threw up more than a little. Funny though... :biglaugh:

In light of Marc Steins tweet that the Bucks would have to move Greg Monroe to get D Wade. Making the trade for Monroe who is 26 opposed to signing Pau Gasol who is going to be 36 would make much more sense. I hope the GM is thinking in these terms rather than in the terms of being the in panic mode and signing Pau just to sign him. Kind of like what he did with Evan.

Not sure what the Spurs are waiting for, they aren't getting Durant. They might as well sign Pau already

Have we really offered Pau 2/$40M? Neil has gone off the rails. He better have some magic up his sleeve that he uses by the Trade Deadline or my opinion of him will have gone down the drain.

OMG -- Someone go tell Olshey if he does not get his "shit" together Blue9 might not like him anymore -- OMG -- that will do it -- that will make him go to turner and say i am sorry but offer gone - CAUSE blue9 might not like me anymore if i continue TRYING to make the team better.

You know how silly you sound like he will give a damn how you feel about him -- ROFL

Dude - STFU. I'm talking with you guys, not TO Olshey.

Am I reading this wrong, some people are upset they didn't sign Aldrich?
I would rather have a young Aldrich who is showing improvement over the years than a guy who is on the downhill side of his career, especially at one third the salary.

This always seems a little ridiculous to me when people think this way. The fans LOVED Rudy and Sergio. We have a great fan base that cheered the hell out of them. People seem to think the ability to form a reasonable thought from an NBA player is absent, and that they would somehow assume that their experience next year, with Damian, CJ, Terry, Neil, etc. would be the exact same that Rudy and Sergio experienced 7, 8 years ago with Nate McFuckstick. Seriously?

And what will you do when Monroe leaves in FA next year when we don't have capspace?

Gasol would only be here for two years, at least with Monroe you would have a year to convince him to stay.

Who does this rook think he is?

Why wouldnt we have monroes early bird rights? It would be two years in one contract if we traded for him.

He'd opt out and we'd have no bird rights.

It looks like Bogut is expiring next year too, so outside of Vucevic most trade targets don't have long deals. Monroe was down to us after we lost all of our guys and what was seen as an up and coming Milwaukee team last year, so at least he might not be totally against the idea of staying

The fans booed Rudy when he came back with Denver.

Absolutely shocking news, you guys.

So you're telling me he's not coming to Portland? What will I do with my Trail Blazers Gasol jersey?

Pau Gasol is like the 00's Scottie Pippen. He came here when he was 34 and we paid him 14 million, 14 million, 18 million, then 19 million in 2003. I'm looking forward to next year, and hoping for big improvements in our defense. We had a top ten offense and defense a couple years ago, was that roster any better than this one?

with the lack of a big man signing, I hope Vonleh makes a huge improvement this season.

We'd have bird rights on those guys. Monroe we wouldn't because he only signed a 2 year deal

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure Porltand was only an agent trick to get some leverage. Gasol never wanted to be a Blazer. I hope to be proven wrong but I am sure I won't.

That's an odd kind of hope. The hopeless hope.

The good thing about us going for divisive figures in free agency is that when we fail to get them there's a substantial section of the fan base who can feel relieved. It's an odd source of happiness, but it's probably the best we Blazers fans can hope for.
