I actually like the player McRoberts has become, but I think Frye would be a better ex-Blazer and Charlotte like McRoberts so he won't be cheap.

(Notice how I resisted comparing McRoberts to Oden there with some "irony" comment thrown in? It took effort.)

I'd definetely sign him for the BAE. But I wouldn't give him the full MLE right now at the start of free agency. If we can't sign our top free agent choices such as Hawes or Monroe sure I would look at adding him. The trick would be settling on a contract amount.

I like McBob. He is a skilled big that can shoot, put it on the floor a bit, rebound, block a shot and is a good passer. Not a bad get if the conversations go that far.

I just got off the phone with Josh McRoberts' agent. Hornets and McRoberts have plenty of mutual interest, but nothing resolved.

Hornets said a couple weeks ago that McRoberts was one of their priorities this summer. Josh made his name with the Hornets . . . they are going to figure something out unless Hornets get real cheap on him.

McBob does more than a little bit of everything out there, pulling a foursome of individual players into a team. And he'd be the perfect guy to help Leonard, who faces the same challenges McBob overcame.

If you could clone him, a roster of 12 McBobs would have an undefeated season and also sweep the playoffs.

Well, the only other team in the clone league is made of 12 sheep called Dolly - so...

Several of these players Olshey's after...are starters. They're supposed to be happy becoming our subs?

McRoberts looked like waiver material for a few years, then leapt upward in Charlotte to starting status, and...he's playing us to get a bigger raise in Charlotte.

I wonder how he'd fit next our other bigs?

It seems like an easy fit with Lopez in the high post, can he defend 4's well?

With Aldridge I wonder if things would look at all like they did when Camby played hi-post and would hit Aldridge with those lobs? Can McBob defend the 5 on defense?

I wonder the same thing in fit with Robinson. If McBob can play center on defense than those two together would leave the lanes wide open for driving, and Robinson could cut backdoor often looking for feeds from him and play pick n roll/crash boards.

I'm just not sure how great (I know he's proficient) of a perimeter shooter he is or how capable he is of guarding 5 men.

How many years did it take McBob to become even serviceable? I'm surprised he stayed in the league long enough for that to happen.

But there is no hope whatsoever for Meyers Leonard. Nope. None at all.

6/4 for his career = Serviceable? Then again, McBobs PER actually went up his first couple of years

I don't get this tweet

It's saying that McBob is gay. And so are the Blazers.

Beard is a slang term describing a person who is used, knowingly or unknowingly, as a date, romantic partner (boyfriend or girlfriend), or spouse either to conceal infidelity or to conceal one's sexual orientation.

As I have said about other awful Blazers in the past, there is no hope as long as they stay with one coach. They need varied experience. McRoberts was crap until his 3rd team, and largely still is.

At age 16, I could have stayed at my $1.35/hour job for the rest of my life, and I wouldn't have learned the skills I did by changing jobs frequently. Leonard is going nowhere as long as he stays a Blazer.

Wouldn't it be easier then to just keep firing and hiring coaches? Lot less packing anyway? If we all kept our first high school job then we'd all still be living at the folks home with our first bicycle too right?

Hearing that the Blazers are trying for MacBob makes me think the Hawes deal was not juicy enough on the payday side of things.

I'm all for changing coaches and players frequently. Bring Back Bob!

Like Meyers will prove once he's gone, McBob had all the talent and skills when we got him. It was completely wasted by a one-dimensional coach with no eye on the future who played old veteran backups over young developing stars.
