Dude--you called him the 17th man, said he didn't show a single NBA skill last year, and said he literally had one good game, yet continue to claim you're not hating on him.

I'm just tryna keep it real (I think I used that correctly).
 
Think we need to hold the horses on this Caleb starting thing. I still think Aminu gets the nod.

I didn't say anything untrue. If you think Meyers is better than Layman or Pat, I'll just agree to disagree. And again, your using 5 games to make your point...

I'm not hating at all. I'm giving my opinion. There's a difference.

You also didn't circle the part "in an effort to make them look bad".

Again, I'm not making him look bad nor am I making an effort to do that.

HE'S doing a great job of that for me.

Aminu starting at PF is a strong possibility. We would need some solid rebounding help from him if we did.

If you can't admit that claiming he's the 17th man in the rotation or that he only had 1 good game last year are untrue statements, then there's nothing I can do for you...
...except keep your seat next to me on the Meyers bandwagon warm. Despite the hating you won't cop to, you'll be welcome to hop on anytime. :cheers:

Scapegoat. Easier to hate on him than face truths about the better players on the team. It's only natural. Every fanbase is like that.

You disagree with me that Meyers is the worst on the team. That's fine. I truly believe this.

So he had, IYO, 5 good games. I only remember one. That doesn't mean I'm hating. That means I'm mistaken about 4 games....

You are also forgetting that I need to be doing that in an EFFORT to make him look bad.
As I explained before, he's doing the best job of that and doesn't need any help from me in that area.

And you're gonna need a space heater to keep that seat warm. You're on that bandwagon by yourself and.... Winter is coming... :D

I wouldn't say I "believe" in Meyers. But I believe he gets way more bashing than he deserves. And I believe it's a new year, and he should be given a new chance. If he fails, I don't understand the point or the positive outcome of bashing the guy. If there is someone better, that better someone will play. If there isn't someone better, and if he isn't good enough, that's on management. If Meyers were dogging it, or sandbagging, or just showing up for a paycheck, or fattening up at voodoo donuts, I could see the negative sentiment. But I don't think anyone can argue that he isn't trying, or he doesn't want to do well. It's not nice to bag on those less able than ourselves ;)

If you really think @dviss1 is hating (OK, he is a little bit), you need to rewatch the 4th quarter of our last regular season game.

Perhaps. But you know, not even black people are consistent about their definition of the term. I mean, this other guy I know has repeatedly said that it's basically just speaking disparagingly about someone.

That's the basic gist. But there has to be an agenda.

A player hater is one who does it to make themselves feel good and also get a one up on who they're hating on.

Specifically, a player hater is one who says disparaging things about a man to one of his women in an effort to get her.

The term has been overused and used out of context for a long time.

Meh. I get all that. But to change meaning of the word mid stream and then use it as an out of context cudgel is another thing.
