come on man, in the realm of the NBA his contract is cheap as all hell. Quit acting stupid

On a team that's willing to sleazily attempt to prevent a player from continuing his career just so they can save some cap space, I'd say $1,000,000 is a significant sum.

So do you make up shit to fit all your arguments, or just the stupid ones?

Just got back from watching the game on DVR...what an utter failure from top to bottom on the squad tonight. The effort was only present for 1 quarter.

What was up with Nates rotation? I couldn't believe that with Greg Oden not in foul trouble, and the run they made in the 3rd, that Greg was not back in there after Pryzillba in the 4th quarter. They went with Frye, and for way too long.

Secondly, the whole second half we had to listen to the announcers just make excuse after excuse for the team, like they had to apologize for them for some reason. There is no reason to make excuses. The team blew tonight. Then they followed it up by making it a Steve Blake dick sucking contest for the whole 4th quarter, talking about how much the team misses him now. How much they will miss him if he misses games. I have news for you. Steve Blake was in when the Blazers played like shit in the 1st quarter, and he was a huge part of it.

Outlaw-I gave him props last game for a good performance. Now you see what happens when he isn't scoring..nothing. If Travis isn't scoring, he isn't bringing anything else to the game. That is why he drives me crazy.

Or KP's.

"What I like best about Sergio is the fact that he's a gamer," said Pritchard. "Against probably the best team in the world, Argentina, Sergio came in and changed the whole game. I just didn't understand in the next game why he didn't even come into the game until the third quarter. But, the kid has confidence. In this league if you have confidence and ability, then you have a chance at success. He's a great kid as well, and I'm even more confident now that he's going to help us, perhaps immediately."

"Sergio is the real deal," adds Pritchard, himself a star point guard at the University of Kansas. "I understand point guards. They can't fool me. Other players may be able to fool me, but point guards can't. We expect big things from Sergio," he added.

"We like Sergio, and we are not in any discussions,'' Pritchard said. "We want to see this team, and we want to see this team grow. It's awfully early to be even talking about this stuff.''

What's a gm going to do, talk bad about his player? Give me a break.

For all we know that talk could have been part of showcasing him to other teams.

I'd say the difference between the two is quite substantial. We are talking about a good chunk of millions regarding Miles, instead of 1 million for Sergio.

But I'm not going to hold my breathe that you will understand that.

I hope they start Sergio tomorrow and keep him in for 30+ minutes just so Maris will stfu about him :)
I like you maris, so no offense.

Nate doesn't like Sergio.

KP likes Sergio very much.

KP got us Sergio.

Pash Natterson got us Nate.

Sergio will be here long after Nate is gone, which may be soon if he doesn't play Sergio more.

Well if Sergio does start tomorrow he better wrap his ankles really well. He would be starting against Devin Harris.

:biglaugh::biglaugh:

MARIS logic = Fail.

sergio sucks. just trade him so he can flourish on a team that plays up tempo and no defense. he isnt a pg for a championship team

His el matador defense will get our bigs into trouble early. But I'm sure excuses will be made about how it's not Sergio's fault!

I just cleansed myself from watching this filth of a game by watching the Spurs beat LA. What a killer 2 minutes of basketball to watch, with both teams executing almost right to the end.

Me too.

It would be nice to have a runaway blowout for a change.

So neither team played a lick of defense?

the biggest thing w/starting sergio is our offense needs to be totally different, and i just dont see that happening, but we'll see!

So neither team played a lick of defense?

I would say to the contrary. Both teams played excellent defense. Execution was just better. In fact, I belive it was the Spurs decision on the last play to double Kobe right away that gained them the victory. Manu Ginobili recognized it, jumped on him, and made Trevor Ariza the guy who had to score.

So who gets the start now? Sergio or Bayless?

As much as he's sucking... I'd still give it to Sergio to see if he can get any semblence of confidence back. We need both of them, and I think we'd get the same with Jerryd whether he came off the bench or started. Sergio needs someone to show some faith in him.
I agree Sergio's confidence seems to have taken a hit -- again. But I think I'd start with Bayless for his defense against the starting unit; and give Sergio minutes off the bench, the same way the Blazers start with Batum then go to Travis. Plus Bayless is supposed to be a good pairing with Roy -- so let's find out. Plus Roy takes the ball out of Sergio's hands, rendering him ineffective.

Bold prediction: If Sergio starts against the Nets the Nets crowd will be chanting MVP for Devin Harris by midway through the 2nd quarter.

The next pick Sergio fights through will be the first.

I do get awfully tired of hearing Barret and Rice come up with reasons why the Blazers play like ass from time to time. How about "They didn't bring it tonight and got their asses handed to them." or "For upteenth time the Blazers let a team shoot %60+ against them in the first quarter, so the starting 5's defense is asstastic."

Here is another Bold prediction: If the trend of letting teams shoot in the high 50's/low 60's for the first 18 minutes of the game continues, we will be crossing our fingers for a good lottery pick this July.

A shining moment of the day... Quick banging on Gavin and CIP in his story for not checking or verifying their trade rumor of Sergio for Nate.

PHILADELPHIA -- The day started with Sergio Rodriguez being traded to New York for Nate Robinson.

It ended with Rodriguez and Jerryd Bayless up for discussion as the Trail Blazers' starting point guard tonight at New Jersey.

As it turned out, the Rodriguez-for-Robinson "deal" was nothing but a hoax, conjured up by talk radio that is too lazy to pick up a phone and determine what is real and what is not.

"Juuuust a bit outside..."
