Ant has to go. He HAS to.
No.

We don't need to clear out a guy who is scoring 20ppg at age 24 just because we have Dame (who's awesome but aging), a 19 year old and a 20 year old.

Having depth is something the Blazers are not used to, but there's nothing wrong with it. If we can get some minutes for Sharpe at the 3, there will be MORE than enough minutes for the four of those guys.

Trading Ant might make sense, but it makes no sense for us to think we gotta get rid of him.

I think Simons, Lillard, and Nurk need to go. All three of them.

Dude. I totally thought Charlotte would get enough offers for Scoot that they'd trade the pick.

Dame and Ant both missed games last year. It's probably more likely one is out with an injury than all four are playing for any game.

I don't agree. I understand, I think, where you're coming from, but if we can add some size (maybe with the 23, or a trade, and/or the MLE) at the 4/5 spots... I actually like our team this year. Contenders? Maybe not, unless everything breaks right, but they'd be better than recent years AND we'll have an awesome young foundation.

"Ed O" stands for "Ed Optimism" today.

I think none of them need to go.

If we get more talent in return then they are worth here, yes make the trade. If not, keep them.

I never understand these addition by subtraction posters.

I do have to say, having a guy who will put ALL the pressure on the defense and is downhill personified, thats exciting.

I do admit, I dont know how he is as a facilitator. Anyone enlighten me on that?

Im legitimately excited for our future with a Scoot/Sharpe backcourt, this could be such a fun and damn good backcourt to watch with how athletic these two are. I'm a little sad because I assume Dame will want out and Dame has given his blood, sweat and tears to this team and done so much for us and regardless what happens with Dame I will always love him. No ill will from me if he decides its time to head somewhere else.

Im super excited we got Scoot. A Scoot Sharpe backcourt will be a problem for the league. I really hope we don’t trade it for an overpay that won’t make us anywhere near a contender. Anyone we trade scoot for we will regret it later.

Ant and 23 to Chicago? Free up our future picks and swap Ant for Derozan? Derozan is Dame's close friend...he was even at his wedding. This might make Dame happy to stay and also make us better. I heard we took a hard pass on PG as his medicals don't look good and Toronto is impossible to get value from without gutting your team.

Run him, get Scoot reps. If Blazers can't make playoffs... go get Shaedon and Scoot a top rookie big next summer.

My sentiments exactly.

I resigned myself to the fact that Dame might go awhile ago. Tbh for the betterment of the franchise, need to keep Scoot to play with Sharpe, and if Dame goes it will be upsetting for a bit, but he has gave his all to this team and he will have my best wishes and we look forward to the bright future we have with these young guys.

Ant Scoot Sharpe is such a great young core. Dame Grant are two great vets. If we can get another good vet it's a great mix of young upside and veterans to win now. Also add some MLE or vet min size to balance the positions.

More excited for this roster than I've been in years. If Cronin can keep the Scoot Ant Sharpe trio I might have to take back some of the fury I've unleashed on him the last few years.

It's true. That's why, when one is breaking down minutes distribution, it's always wiser to look at minutes over 82 games, rather than over one game.

So, if we give 48 minutes for each guard spot and, say, 12 for the 3... that's 108 minutes in a game between four guys. That's 27 minutes a game for each of the four guys.

But over 82 games, that is 8856 minutes... even without significant injuries, guys are going to miss five or six games a year. So if we divide 8856 by 304 (4*76, where 82-6=76) that's up to 29 minutes a game, and that's a pretty conservative average.

The Blazers shouldn't have to rely on guards like Skylar Mays and Tony Snell as starters at any point of the season like we have the last couple of years.

Now let's play small ball and run circles around opponents! Globetrotters west!
