Blazers to have gold tab on the back of their jersey collar

It's funny how they mention Portland as one of the 1 title teams.

What about...wait, is Portland and Dallas the only single title win teams (not counting the Zombie Sonics..btw, if they put the gold patch on the Zombie Sonics uniforms...)?

Nope, Portland and Dallas aren't the only single winners.

St Louis Hawks, Bucks, Kings, Bullets, and Bullets (the original).

Dang, Boston is 17-4 in 21 in the NBA Finals.

The Bucks and Knicks have one championship, right?

Thats stupid but whatever. If they are going to do something like this they should put the dates in small print on the back of the jerseys under the name of the year they won the championship.

Just another way to sell more jerseys. That's if they are available to purchase.

Really fucking stupid. I think the CURRENT champions should have some sort of alterations to their jersey, like gold lining on the outside of the jerseys, kind of like a Championship Belt.

MotoGP champs get to use the #1 on their bikes for the entire season after they win a championship.

I like the idea but I think just having the gold band with nothing else isn't that great. There should be a way to signify the current champ and how many titles the club has won overall in the tab.

Like stars or something?

Previous championships have nothing to do with the current team/players and often little to do with current management. If they want to put a gold star on the neck for the current champions, OK I guess, but otherwise this is a dumb idea.

If the goal is to make fans of teams who haven't won the championship, or haven't won it in one or two generations feel worse (BTW: that's most teams over the last 20 or so years), mission accomplished.

Current champs should get a Larry O'Brien Trophy logo patch, maybe an inch and a half high, on the left shoulder, for one season only. Consecutive champs get a patch with as many trophies as they have consecutive titles.

I don't count any rings before the merger. If we don't count ABA titles we shouldn't count pre-merger NBA titles. Back then the NBA was a niche sport with 8 teams. Boston was effectively the globetrotters buying all the other teams players.

So the Blazers won the inaugural title!

It's kind of bullshit, since the Thunder insisted to the NBA about taking Seattle's history. (I totally disagree with that, the Sonics died in 2007, but whatever). Be consistent--if you effing announcer will say things like "Durant set the team scoring record held by Shawn Kemp from 1996", then put the damn trophy on your back. If you aren't going to put the trophy, then follow Gary Payton's example and say "I'm not hanging my jersey in OKC--I never played there" and start the history books from 2007.
