If this is all we do, resigning the players we can, we're effectively trading Hendo for Parsons. I love it.

@KingAlbertoJrSpeed , is that you? What if Neil's plan was to essentially keep the roster in tact?

If it were up to me, start Plums at C, backups: Leonard, Davis, Vonleh.and now we'll effectively trade Biebs for a 2nd tier center.
You wouldn't have to give up that much.If you renounce Roberts, Kaman, Hendo, Leonard, Harkless.....Trade Plumlee, Vonleh and Connaughton....You can get Parsons to 21.75 and Hassan Whiteside to 21.75.
And be able to keep Crabbes rights.
Lillard, CJ, Parson, Aminu, Whiteside
Davis and Crabbe on the bench. Use Room Exception for a guard. Have Layman too.
Sign minimum players to fill out roster.
Hmmmm. Don't know if I would wanna do that.
Young players can still get better year over year...What if Neil's plan was to essentially keep the roster in tact?
yes.So NateBishop, does Parsons qualify as that third scorer you've been clamoring for?
PG Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
SG McCollum (24) / Crabbe (24)
SF Parsons (34) / Harkless (14)
PF Aminu (30) / Harkless (10) / Plumlee (8)
C Whiteside (32) / Plumlee (16)
Dude no. Harkless is gone if we signed Parsons. Dude is gonna get paid 12-14 million per year. Ed Davis is a contract worth a lot since he is so underpaid in this new world. We can't cut Connaughton, his salary is guaranteed. You wouldn't have to give up that much.
To sign both we need $43.5M in cap space. We have apx. $26.5M in cap space (after renouncing Hendo, Kaman, Roberts). We'd need to clear $17M in cap space. That could look something like trading Davis($6.7M), Vonleh(2.7M), and renouncing Meyers ($7.7M), and cutting Connaughton or Alexander. We'd cut appx $18M from our roster. We could sign both and still have Crabbe, Harkless, and Plumlee off the bench. That's a guard, combo forward, and center. Sounds good to me.

It's possible we go for Austin Rivers. If it were up to me, start Plums at C, backups: Leonard, Davis, Vonleh.
Whiteside isn't a mild upgrade...I agree on parsons tho. I hope we don't give him 20 millAre you guys seriously reading what you are suggesting? Completely gutting the up and coming team to make mild upgrades at 2 positions. Reality check needed.

I think all things factored Whiteside is a mild upgrade over Plumlee, especially in the red flag department... But I haven't been sold on Whiteside to begin with because of those red flags.Whiteside isn't a mild upgrade...I agree on parsons tho. I hope we don't give him 20 mill
All those open 3s we cringed while watching Mo and Aminu take... We have a guy who shot .414 from 3 going to take most of those. I'm liking this more and more.
