TRAIL BLAZERS AND JAZZ TO PLAY 2013 PRESEASON GAME IN BOISE
Portland will host Utah at the home of the Trail Blazers D-League affiliate Idaho Stampede
PORTLAND, Ore. (March 14, 2013) – The Portland Trail Blazers, the NBA hybrid single-affiliate of the NBA Development League’s Idaho Stampede, will host the Utah Jazz in a preseason game on Oct. 11, at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, it was announced today by the Trail Blazers and Stampede.
The game marks the first time the Stampede have hosted an NBA preseason game, and the second exhibition trip to Boise for the Trail Blazers, who played the Rockets there in 1983. Portland last played a neutral site preseason game in 2009, when the Phoenix Suns hosted the Trail Blazers in Vancouver, B.C.
The Trail Blazers and Stampede, affiliates since 2007, entered into a hybrid single-affiliation partnership on May 29, 2012, making Portland Idaho’s sole NBA affiliate. Utah was previously affiliated with the Stampede during the 2006-07 and 2011-12 seasons.
CenturyLink Arena is expected to slightly adjust the court and seating arrangements to allow for a maximum capacity of 5,200.
