Interesting article. Really kind of top heavy. Lots of likeable guys. I dont think I have any drastic disagreements, except Id have Wes a couple spots higher.

Personally, I think Steve Smith should be moved to 3.

Nice list and yes although Steve Smith was not here a long time he was very very good. I also would say the same thing about Danny Ainge. He probably was as good as a few on that list also.
Tough to put a number on them though.

Its a hard list for me, I am such a big wes fanboy. I know logically he ‘s in about the right place, but id probably have him at like 3...

I'd have Wesley, Paxson, & Steve Smith all higher than CJ, in no particular order. And I'd have Lionel Hollins ahead of CJ too. IMO, not having him on the list is a real miss

I agree. Steve Smith was a very good SG with a lot of sneaky tricks.

Hollins played SG most of the time and was definitely the SG on the championship team and the year after. Twardzick and Johnny Davis were the PG's. Hollins was a lockdown defender as well, on either PG's or SG's

bbref isn't always accurate about what happened in the NBA two decades before the internet, and their labels aren't sacraments

I saw him play when he was in Portland. His rookie year, he played mostly PG because Petrie and Steele were at SG. His 2nd season, he was all SG because Twardzick and Johnny Davis took all the PG minutes. The same thing happened the following season.

his 4th season, Portland traded Davis to get Mychal Thompson. But Twardzick was still there and played 25 minutes a game at PG. Hollins kind of filled the CJ role of being the part time PG when Twardzick sat

I saw it...I'm that old. For two seasons after his rookie year, the starting lineup was Twardzick-Hollins-Gross-Lucas-Walton. Then the wheels fell off when Walton got injured and soured on the Blazers.

No problems on the list. Jim Barnett probably should get the go ahead for starting the Laker/Blazer feud as well. He got into a fight with Chamberlin and walked away with 8 stitches, a black eye, a technical and smiles and 1 pissed off Wilt. He was a decent defender as well I watched him shut down Pete Maravich for 2 halfcourt violations in the same game.
Hollins, Davis and Twardzick were all point guards its just that Twardzick and Davis could not play SG and Hollins could. Steele was the 6th man off the bench and replaced Twardzick, Hollins moved to PG which he was very good at. Twardzick was just a better PG then Steele was a SG so he got the starting nod. Larry Steele at the time was one of the best defenders in the NBA. Although his offensive numbers don't show it he kinda had Robert Hoary's knack of making the shot when you needed it.

Bonzi should be top 5. Afflalo shouldn’t be on any kind of list. Amazing that three of the top 4 three point shooters of all time have played for us.
