Blazers trade for Afflalo and Alonzo Gee

Haha, they actually are. The fools are talking about how other teams always seem to get something for nothing. Didn't they get Josh Smith and Corey Brewer for Moreys 5 day old Tunafish sandwich?
Aflalo is 10 times better than Brewer. Smith will kill their team, especially in the playoffs. Our moves makes perfect sense, their moves have serious questions.

You overlooked the point and assumed I was comparing talent. The point is those idiots don't even realize they got something for nothing a few months ago.

What a great move. Houston fans must be jealous.

I doubt it; they probably think Afflalo would never play on that team, Montas is better than Rolo and the only reason the don't have Dragic is because Beverly is a superior defender.

I wonder if they get these guys through their physicals in time for Afflalo and Gee to be in a Blazers' uniform tomorrow night.

I've always really liked Afflalo. He was money in Orlando. This is a steal.
me too, wonder how much we'll see Wes and Afflalo playing together with Nic sitting? if Nic keeps shooting like crap we may see more of this then most of us think

He's not that bad; a solid vet that can defend and hit the 3. Hopefully we are covered at the wings so we don't have to have him play; but if Batum is hurt or someone is in foul trouble he can come in and not screw up to much. Think of Crabbe role earlier this year but with a player who won't be so nervous if his number is called in the playoffs.

Gee is a career 33% shooter from 3 and he doesn't take many.

He's not a good shooter.

It would be nice, but we didn't trade any rotation players so it wouldn't be a huge blow if they can't play.

Yep and imagine how good he'll be when you have a great distributor in Dame and a low post attention player in Aldridge? Afflalo is probably saying "pinch me I'm dreaming!"

I think Mag's point is that the free thing Houston got is like a dose of the clap after a drunken night with a barroom pickup.

It's an expiring contract. He has trade value.

Since it'll take more than the 3 hours left in the trade deadline to finalize the deal Gee has zero trade value.

Okay so what about CJ? Wasn't one of the issues being CJ and Afflalo have the same agent?

Yep!!! It looked good at the time, but the infection spread and they got an STD

I'm still not sold on CJ. He's had a few good games lately, and that's great, but Afflalo is a legit 6'5 shooting guard who can score in bunches. CJ becomes an afterthought for me.

Afflalo attempted almost 5 free throws last year with Orlando. I think he's ready to break out again on this squad and attack the rim more.

Oh don't get me wrong... I definitely agree Afflalo, right now, is amazingly better than anything CJ can bring at this moment. Maybe later on down the road, but this is definitely a "win now" move.

I'm just asking will this create a problem with CJ and his agent?

Who cares? Who is CJ? Get in line young buck.

That's what I'm hoping for. Also, I watched him this season and saw he actually has a post up game. It just wasn't utilized in Denver

Psst, it's not necessarily about CJ as his agent. Agents can influence a player to stay or bolt. We want Afflalo for more than 1 year. Piss off the agent and you may lose the player you really want

Guess its not a big deal.

Would be awesome if CJ plays so damn well he steals a few of Blakes minutes. Blakes been solid but he isn't getting any younger and CJ still has over 2 years left on a rookie contract.

I still think Afflalo and CJ can play together.
