Love the deal. Makes me happy and sad at the same time. I think if Wes really gets max like offers from someone like the Knicks, it wouldnt surprise me if we let him walk and signed afflalo for 9-10 million a year
 
What about dee bost? I kinda liked him in summer leagues. Thought he could be a decent third PG. What's he up to?

I'm thrilled with every aspect of this trade except losing Vic....I liked Vic's game but realize Stotts didn't. This trade is proof that Neil gets all his advice on trades from the forum thread. You read about Afflalo here, admit it Olshey!

Blazers traded non-rotation short-timers for a legit sixth man = Win

Open roster spot for PattyPokerBiebs = Lose

Vic was gone at the end of the season. There's no way he would have signed an extension with us. Pretty much all three were not part of the long term plans.
 
The NBA game was WAY TOO FAST for Claver. He'll go back to Europe and be a solid role player.

Same for all these guys. They need to be on a team that can let them make and work through mistakes. I see all three as contributors and future NBA rotation players. Our team is on the verge of contention-- this move had to be made.
 
I don't think we need a third PG. CJ could handle those duties for a couple games. While Nic can't shoot he can still setup the offense fine; for court spacing the shooting of the player with the ball is the least important.

With TRob being shipped out we might want to sign a big man. Kaman and Joel both missed our last game. One thing I'm certain of is there is zero need to add Prince now.

Irrelevant. Alonzo Gee doesn't take enough 3s to even matter. Other teams don't care if he shoots. Even if Batum is shooting bad this year he's still a threat.
 
Wow... crazy. I bet TRob has some hurt feelers, but ah well! Go Blazers! Now if we could get something good for Batum! I love him, but not for 12mil.
 
Great news!!! I've wanted Gee on our team for a long time! Afflalo is good too!
 
Gary Neil would be a nice 3rd point. He's likely to be moved today.

Pretty much as far back as I can remember the Blazers have had a white guy that was drastically over-valued by the fans. Vic was that guy.
