Won't someone please think of the taxes?! I'm worried about my 20 billion supporting all these Vulcans!

Someone help me: did we trade any seconds in this deal?

I like Winco.
Woof!

Bench has no proven shooters. These changes are lateral at best. But what are you gonna do. Some owners/GMs swing for the fences; go all in. POR just doesn't have what it takes to do that. They need two additional players better than Grant and then things get interesting.

From my view, the Blazers issues are not built shooting the ball....they seem to be around not being able to defend off the dribble in about 12-14'.

Hmm, another RFA this off-season....

Torey and Eric are saying that there's reports that he's a piece of shit. Not a good dude. I don't have a link.
They might be right. They have probably watched jhim play which is more than I can say. He's tall and reputed to be a defender and said to be intense and a very hard worker.

2 RFAs, if I am not mistaken.

Yeah thats why I said another.

For the rest of the season I think biggest priority is for one of these guys to show they are starting quality:

Sharpe
Nas
Cam
Thybulle
Knox

To show they're starting worthy. At the very least the practices should be competitive....

Sharpe is the only one that needs to be spoon fed minutes. We know what Nas is, what he is paid and that means there is no issue with him being a bench guy. Cam is the biggest what-if of these guys, you want to see if he can be a designated scorer of the bench. You know what MT is, great defender, will always have a place in the NBA on that side of the ball. Not likely to be much more than this, if he can shoot a little better, he can be a starter in the Josh Hart mold. Knox, frankly, I have very little hope for, but he is a slightly bigger body, so that's OK for this team.

FEB 9 2023Traded to Portland (POR) from Philadelphia (PHI) as part of a 3-team trade: Philadelphia (PHI) traded 2023 2nd round pick to Charlotte (CHA); Portland (POR) traded 2029 2nd round pick to Philadelphia (PHI); Portland (POR) traded Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and 2027 2nd round pick to Charlotte (CHA); Charlotte (CHA) traded Jalen McDaniels and 2024 2nd round pick to Philadelphia (PHI)

Bruh did we trade TWO seconds and get the worse player? No wonder we prioritized getting those 5 seconds back....

We need to see what we have with Reddish and Thybulle.

Why? I think its clear we wont bring them back. Just needed the $ off the books so we can duck tax next yr.
You keep saying we're going to be trying to duck the tax again next year. Why? Since we are getting out of the repeater territory this year, isn't it expected that we start spending again? Is this just Jody hate (if so, I get the frustration)?

Why else did we trade for everyone who is gonna be a FA this summer? We got rid of GPs contract. We didn't want Wiseman. What else could it be? Surely its not cuz we think Knox and Reddish have untapped potential, because thats even worse.

Hart was going to be gonna be a FA so what's the difference? Wiseman is shit, so we didn't want him. I don't know enough about Knox and Reddish to say there, but why does that equate to us dodging the tax next year? I don't understand.

We got a pick for Hart.

We coulda had Bey even if you didn't want Wiseman.

I will bet anything we dont bring any of Thybulle, Reddish, Knox back. No contracts going past this summer. Writing is on the wall.

They know they will have to pay out the nose to keep Grant so they are structuring tbe books to avoid tax next yr. It's exactly what they did last yr with Nurk/simons deals coming up.

This team is hopeless.

I don't think you have thought this one through. Even if the moves were because of the 'tax", that doesn't mean they won't be back if they play well.
If the goal is to stay under the tax line every year, (Which I do not believe) they have never got rid of the better players on the team or stopped from overpaying them. If Thybule and Cam play better than others, the "others" are the ones that will be shipped out to clear salary....not the ones who can help us win.
