Ok. No worries. Still, not sure what I said or did, but you do you. Life is far too short to put up with people you don’t like

It's why I don't come here often. There are few amazing people here. I'm friends with them outside of this forum. There are lots who aren't.

I would venture to say that there are plenty of amazing people in this forum. I'm often amazed by people's ridiculous logic, incredible overreactions, staggering lack of judgment, etc...

Truer words, sir….truer words. Hopefully, if you enjoy it of course, you’ll post more often and just ignore the non amazing ones

In the regular season Thybulle could have value. But one way players are totally exposed in the playoffs as they can be schemed by a prepared opponent to have a much more negative value. Thybulle is basically the opposite of Kanter and Melo. Makes sense the 6ers have just decided to move on from Thybulle as they are playing to prepare for the playoffs more than squeak out a few regular season wins. The Blazers might not have any playoff aspirations.

Beyond that; defensive specialists are generally much less valuable than offensive specialists. The offense can control how involved those offensive specialists are with the ball so the team can maximize their utilization. However on defense; the defenders team doesn't control who is defending the ball, the opponent can just give the ball to a secondary creator and take the defensive specialist completely out of the play.

Additionally; teams can help cover a defensive players shortcoming with rotations, in a way that teammates can't help each other with a jump shot or scoring opportunity. Coaches can develop defensive schemes.

Thats why you see offensive specialists all over starting lineups in this league, often even on All-NBA teams. But defensive specialists with major holes on offense often get relegated to 3rd string if not just dropped out of the league.

Then how did gp3 have such an impact on last years championship team in the playoffs?

We got a 1st round pick and 5 2nd rounders for an expiring and a guy who didn't want to be here. I think that's way better future value than just hanging on to GP II and seeing Hart walk in the offseason.
Yes the first is valuable and a good trade. The rest of it... I dunno. Woulda rather taken a swing on Wiseman or even Bey than the seconds.

False equivalences are a fallacy. Comparing one bad move to another is just that, comparing bad moves.

Was GP2 under contract or not? Did we have control over his whereabouts for next few years?

Make sense...
Thank you for the lesson. I'll try to do better.

I agree with you. When I was happy getting the 4 picks for GP2 it was right before the deadline and after we got Thybulle (which is pretty much a redundancy IMO) However after hearing about Wiseman and Bey ..... I would much rather have had one of those.....especially Bey

Got two sizable TPEs. I'm betting we use one with a few seconds to get Vanderbilt after he doesn't work out for the Lakers.

apparently we used it to get Thybulle, so that was an asinine question

Thybulle has been a bright spot since the trade.
Maybe a 3&D type of player? He needs to be wide open to make them, so maybe he does not fit that description, but I like his effortless motion. 14-26 since he arrived (54%) He is a keeper

If thybulle is a poor man’s version of Og anonuby, I don’t feel great about giving up a haul to get him this summer. Og wouldn’t make us much better than we are now.

If we were healthy, I think we’d be a near-contender with OG. The problem is without Nurk we have no rim protection or rebounding. I think Josh Hart was a helpful bandaid for our shitty rebounding even with Nurk. If we had OG and say Vanderbilt without playing Shaedon (for thought exercise), I think we’d be a top 6 team.

yes, elite rim protecting C is most important for us, then a 2-way wing, in that order.
